Alterations

I have a Casablanca dress, 1957 to be exact.  If you take a look at it on their website, you will note the serious beading and embroidery covering it.  I need the bodice taken in and am seriously nervous that it will not be possible without destroying the design!  Does anyone have any suggestions for seamstresses in the Boston area who have possibly worked on Casablanca dresses or with whom they were pleased and/or impressed?

The ones that get the most positive reviews are Faye Carraher in Billerica and Chris O'Hare in Quincy.

I had my alterations done at the shop where I got my dress, although the owner does take dresses bought at other stores (not all stores allow this). Sabella Couture is the name of the store and Maria is the owner. She was an absolute perfectionist when it came to my dress and it showed in the final product. I got so many compliments that day and I'm still getting them, even 9 months later.

I had a Casablanca dress and got my alterations done by Chrissy's Bridal in Canton. They also did a friend of mine's dress (also a Casablanca and they will probably do my SIL's). The woman there does a great job and I know they sell a lot of Casablanca. She's also done a dress for me when I was a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding.
    You're dress is gorgeous! GL!

    Hi Ladies,

Thank you so much for the recommendations!  I've decided to go with Fay Carraher.  I met with her yesterday for my first fitting and she is fabulous!
