Re: QOTD 6/15

  • Game night ruins my diet. FI and I go to game night with our friends most weekends, and there is always a ton of junk food. It's awful, but at least being on Weight Watchers I can save up my activity points during the week and splurge!

  • Things like chips and salsa and bread baskets at restaurants-- the "before" food foods. And so I just try to not start on them, or with chips and salsa don't let FI buy 'em. He did last night, but he got chips I hate (the lime flavored ones, bleh) so I wouldn't eat them, ha ha.

What ruins my diet- not eating every couple of hours, then i will binge on random stuff around the house at night...mostly cereal/cookies; parties/bbqs: all the good food around me makes me want to eat everything=(

What i do- make sure i drink plenty of water, chew gum, eat 5-6 small meals a day and get to the gym ~5x a week and not use stupid excuses...if i dont get to the gym im cranky
i also dont buy junk food so its not in the house....when im leaving the house for long periods of time i always bring my lunch box with me with snacks/food, people look at me like im crazy but id know where my strengths and weaknesses are and i know sometimes "i cant just stop at one"

Eating out. It's too convenient and FI and I hate cooking. And if we eat out I always want something good, not just a salad. We're getting better at making meals at home but still working at it!
  • Apparently my birthday ruins my diet. I decided to eat whatever I wanted the past few days and gained 3 pounds of the 6 pounds I had lost in the last month.

I think anytime that I am not careful eating out and then eat out like 2 days in a row. It's like I just keep stuffing unhealthy food in my mouth.

  • ice cream and soda. we try not to keep soda in the house, we recently got some siince we were hosting friends over and figured they would prefer that as an option instead of water or juice (apple, cranberry, etc.)
Ice cream we tend not to keep in the house when its cold out, but since its warm out we have been bad about keeping it in the house. If i let FI pick out ice cream I dont like it helps so that I wont eat it. (Ex. Im not a coffee drinker so I dont like coffee ice cream, FI loves it. )

  • Sitting at home ruins my diet! If I am out and about running errands, I just forget to eat. But if I am home or watching TV at night, I am constantly snacking.

  • Stress and boredom - chips, popcorn with too much butter and pasta.

  • Normally, I eat pretty healthy about 8-90% of the time...organic fruits and veggies, whole wheat bread and pasta, no processed foods with ingredients that I can't pronounce or recognize as food.  We also do not keep junk food in the house at all.  I think this as well as hitting the gym / doing some sort of physical activity 3-4 days a week keeps me at my "happy weight".

My biggest weakness is my sweet tooth!  I noticed that if I pick something that's very rich I eat less of it, so I never go for the "low fat" or "fat free" desserts because then I end up eating more of it.  I'd rather have the full fat version, and just eat a few bites to be satisfied.  I keep good quality dark chocolate in my desk drawer, and have a piece when I get stressed out.  Because it's the good stuff, 1 piece is all I need : )

  • I'm not necessarily on a diet, but I'm trying to cut back on soda because it bloats me too much, and I don't want a bloated belly in my wedding dress. Unfortunately, because I work 12 hour night shifts, sometimes it's really hard to stay away from soda!

  • I love to bake....and that always kills my diet. Sometimes I'm just bored ad baking is something to do. Then I eat my cookies or brownies or whatever and there it goes.

Also, Brewer Games kill my diet/healthy eating. Brats, beer, chips, cheese fries, tailgating. It's just way too tempting. And so good

  • Eating out kills me.  I went to a nutrionist recently as part of a living social boot camp deal and she did a 7 day meal plan for me.  I'm great during the week and have no problem following it except on the weekends when my parents like to go out and invite us along.  I can't say no.  And its always Italian - my favorite.

Another problem is beer.  I love a nice, cold beer during the summer.
