Show me your holiday decor!! (AW PIP)

Hey ladies, I just put up our holiday decor--currently it's all outside, because H is a grinch. But I digress.... we also FINALLY got the stemware/storage rack from Crate and Barrel so my wine glasses have somewhere (very accessible!) to live! Now AW your decor! Laughing

PLEASE ignore the 1)massive amounts of cardboard and 2) our pumpkin.

Close-up. Love green and silver!

My DIY wreath in action!

And our wine rack!! Love!

The wreath I made this year at the nursery with burlap ribbon :]

On my window ledges... Just pine tree garland and candles

Over our fireplace.. We have plain, boring stockings.. The trees are from Starbucks a couple years ago.. All the decor gets thrown out after the season, so we're allowed to take stuff home :P

umm... I don't really have any other good pictures of stuff... I should take more..

Alex I love your DIY wreath :]

Oh love the stockings though!!!! And the wreath is divine, of course! Wish I had a fireplace. I was at a friend's house and they put twinkling lights in the fireplace so it was all lit and twinkly! Can't wait to try that.

    Everyone's houses look so pretty!!!

    Here is my decor:

Yes, two candles.  A pine and a cinnamon candle. It smells like Christmas in my apartment, it just doesn't look like it. Ha.

I really want to get a baby Christmas tree for my apartment, but then I have to buy lights, ornaments, and a tree stand. But as I was typing this out I was thinking...My parents never get real trees anymore (They have a really nice fake), so I may borrow their stand/lights.

    Here are some of mine...

One side of the kitchen.. the other only has the garland - still trying to decide what to put up there (the ceiling is lower)

Some of our pillows (I have 2 other ones that say HO HO HO that are at the other end of the couch)

"Coffee table" center piece (It's really H's trunk from the academy)

Our indoor tree w/ a xmas tree

Our tree, I still need to fix/remove the topper (my Mother went a little over board)

    and finally...

hanging on our door- this guy is my favorite. It says "Christmas Cheer is welcome Here!"

My Mom also hung garland on our porch railing with bells but I haven't taken a pic yet.

Oh I am so jealous of all the holiday decor ladies!! I love the Christmas trees(Shan, yours is beautiful!)

H doesn't want to put any up since we won't be here for Christmas, he feels like it would be a waste, I on the other hand do not share the sentiment but I understand where he's coming. Although, I did manage to convince him about getting a wreath for our front door. I actually made one, bought the stuff from Michael's. I just love decorating for the holidays, I needed at least 1 thing!

Here's my wreath. I think I need a bit more "pizzazz" to it, so I might add a few things on it.

Since I can't decorate much, I have been busy gift wrapping instead! I think I have 20 done right now.

And you ladies can  now see some of the beauty they've got at Busch Gardens right now!

Shan where did you get your pillows? I've found some really cute ones but I just can't bring myself to spend $30 per pillow for ones that'll only stay out for a month :/

Thanks we got 98% of the decor from Hobby Lobby & the Tree is from Lowes. My very first pre-lit fake tree and I am in love. (Although I don't like the shape but H wanted a slim tree)

We just got ours up tonight. We went to a tree farm yesterday and chopped our own cedar, it smells fantastic. I'm hoping to get a real wreath somewhere, I know they have them at Sam's.

And, a little bit of ring porn:

div, your pics on fb are adorable!
and I LOOOOVE your ring!!!!!!!! Yay ring porn!!!
    So that's your e-ring correct?
What are you going to do about a wedding band ? Add to it? Move it to the right hand and wear something else on the left? That will be a toughy to find a band for I would thing, since it's so detailed and you won't want to take away from it..  What's the plan dear? :]

That's the e-ring, I really want just a plain band, maybe with some inset diamonds, but I don't know how it'll fit. I don't want to put something on either side because I like the metal work. But I wonder how a band would look beneath it. I kind of always wanted a wedding band like Nigella Lawson's (yes, I watch entirely too much Food Network), which was the incredibly thin yellow gold band, and while I don't mind mixing metals in general, I know that would look awful with this ring.

haha I understand that... I have a reeeally thin band to go with my ring because o I wanted something that didn't take away from my e-ring. H was excited because he wanted our bands to match, so that's what we did... Then when he lost his, I bought us new matching bands that are thicker.. then he found his.. lol.. So now I wear the thicker band on my left hand and my thin band+e-ring on my right... oi.. complicated O.o haha
Point is, you can wear a band and an E-ring and they don't HAVE to go together.. .If you're worried about it, wear a thin gold band on your left hand, and switch the e-ring to your right :] :P You have time to dwell on it anyway, I was just curious. I know what you mean though.. I love the simple band look!

This puts me in the Christmas mood!  I will have to get some of my pictures up.

FTL- love the wreath.  You said you made it?  Love it.

Divine- I love ring porn.  That ring is really pretty!  Was it someone in the families?  I just love the detail.  It makes me think 1940s glam!

Here is a little of our Christmas decor!  Since H is deployed and I decided not to move to where he is stationed we still have both of our houses.  So I decided to decorate both.  Just call me "Christmas Carol".  HAA

Many of the decorations on this tree were made by my grandmother and some of her little old lady friends. She sent them to me many years ago. Since the I have started to purchase one each year to add to the tree.

Of course I needed to get one in there with the cute puppies.  This took a lot of Beggin Strips for this shot.  It is very dark.

This is the full tree in picture #2

Because I am nice, I UGA tree for the H.  HAAA  :)

Last but not least one of Santa's reindeer wanted to wish everyone a wonderful time of year!

    crown-
Yeah, my aunt, grandma (this year a gf came along) and I always go to this local nursery to make wreaths after Thanksgiving. It's awesome! They have everything you could possibly want to make it, Christmas music, wine and cookies and cheeses.. soooo fun :]

ooooomg you have two trees... that's like double the Christmas spirit... That's amazing.  O.o  That... is amazing.
  • edited December 2011
FTL- that sounds so fun!!! I would have loved finding something like that.  Yeah two trees for two houses.  HAA Since H was deploying I didn't want to leave my job and house (we didn't live in the same state) so I just decorated two houses.  HAAA

I know it is a little late... but I bought a baby Christmas tree at Michaels. It is adorable. Not to mention, tree, ribbon and ornaments were a grand total of $5.37. Love 75% off sales!
