I think im going to go with white roses...... I was wanting to do orchids but prices are way too expensive. im still not 100% sure though any thoughts or ideas? anything would be appreciated, this is the only thing ive been having trouble with.
You could always just use a few orchids here and there. I love orchids too and know that I won't be able to afford a lot of them, but I'm hoping to get a few in my bouquet and some of the arrangements.
I agree, if you love orchids, see if a florist can put a few in your bouquet along with some other flowers that are more affordable. A florist could give you great ideas on what would look great and fit your budget. If you are having bridesmaids bouquets, I would make them similar, but without the orchids to help make yours stand out and keep the price of the other bouquets down.
I did all white roses for my personal flowers. For my centerpieces, I mixed in white lillies and hydrangea--and although they were beautiful, I ended up wishing I had just stuck with all roses.
What about a mix like others above are suggesting?
I did a mix of carnations for the wedding ceremony, and calla lillies and gerbera daisies (real) from costco.com...
I'm looking at natural preserved orchids, that don't need to be put into water, but you can, for centerpieces, or part of the escort card table, or as an accent to your sweet heart table etc.
Use the "special" flower in your bouquet and for your FI's bout. The BMs/GMs would get roses but you would have a orchid/rose combo or even orchids by themselves. Don't completely drop the flower you love...just use it for your bouquet as the "special" flower.
