Denver Knotties - I need your photo expertise (please).

Hey Knotties,
I need your expertise. I’m looking for the best place to take photos in the Denver area. This can be wedding or engagement photos. Also, tell me why. Does the place have great lighting? Filled with nature? Modern buildings? What makes it unique to where you live and why would someone want to take wedding-related photos there? I’ll be using your Knot name, btw.
Thanks in advance!

In the Denver metro area I think that Red Rocks Amphitheatre or Roxborough State Park are probably the most scenic nature spots to take photos. Both have pretty incredible red rock formations that would make for a lovely backdrop.

I agree, Red Rocks is absolutely gorgeous. Incredible natural backgrounds and mountain ambience.  I also think downtown Denver (near Curtis St, etc.) has some of the coolest street art and architectural backdrops around.

We are taking our engagement photos around Union Station and Riverfront Park.  It has a great urban feel and there are tons of cool buildings around that should make for great photos.  Also, with the Platte river down there, you still get the Colorado nature feel which we love. For us it really speaks to our lifestyle.

We are taking our wedding photos at the Botanic Gardens where we are getting married.  We picked it because of how beautiful all of the gardens are and all of the different options we have for photo backgrounds.  I think it will be a great place to shoot photos.

We are taking our engagement pictures at the Platte River by REI with our dog in the afternoon because it is not only a beautiful location, but a place we visited frequently when we lived in our first apartment together downtown. After dark we are doing the rest of our engagement pictures in Larimer Square under the gorgeous street lights - it has always been a favorite of mine and magical at night.

I think its important to choose a place or places that are not only pretty backdrops, but have some kind of meaning to you.

We took our engagement photos in Downtown Denver. We were on our bikes, so we went all over. We started behind the REI on the Platte, went near the Museum of Modern Art (great backdrops there), found some cool bridges along the way and ended in Larimer Square. I'm thrilled with our Engagement Pics!
