Photography and videography vendor suggestions

I know people always have photography suggestions. My mom is a photographer so this is a really important part of the wedding to her.  It is to us because it is what you have left after it is all over.

I am looking for a few suggestions of some the best/top photographers and videographers in Orlando.

I know Tabitha McCausland is one the most popular and is on my list who are some others?

TIA!

Because I prefer an artistic, modern photographic style, I went with Ashley McCormick.  She's in Mt. Dora but does weddings all over Central Florida...actually, she does weddings all over everywhere!  I already knew I loved her style and her eye for detail (she does a lot of candids, too), but when I saw the pics on her blog for a wedding she shot in Savannah recently, I knew I had 100% made the right decision.  My fiance and I can't wait to see what she can do for us on our wedding day :)

For a videographer, check out http://www.ozfilmz.com Their style is pretty different and more cinematic than a lot of other videographers.

I ended up going with Greg Dillon from Photography by Greg.  He was very professional and I love his style (blend of photojournalistic and traditional) and personality.  If you're more interested in the vogue, modern style I would recommend Jennifer Werneth as well.  I hope this helps, and good luck finding someone whose work you love!

We're using Kelly Embry Photography. She is in Atlanta but is traveling to Orlando for just a small gas stipend (i think she has family in Orlando that she stays with). Her work is really fun and creative, we are soooo happy that we found her!

I am using Chris Gillyard, but I do not have a personal referral yet (we are doing engagement shots this fall).  I do love the work on his website, though.  Very artistic.

As for the "best" Misty Miotto and Kristin Weaver are two very big names in CF.  They are both pretty expensive, but are known to be great photographers.

I think there is a wealth of excellent photographers in the Central FL area.  My advice is big price doesn't equate to best work.  Just really get to know your final choices and ask to see their work in print in addition to electronic (which I am sure you already know being your mother is a photographer!!).

For videographers, I have heard really good things about Molly Brown, but I don't have a whole lot of input here, because I have not selected one yet.

Good luck with this piece!!  My fiance is a photographer as wel, so this definitely has proven to be the most extensive part of our search so far!!!  =D

my friend used a new photographer -- Matt Whytsell.  She had her engagement pictures done and I was pretty impressed.  I think she was very happy with them and I think she said his prices were very reasonable.

I strongly suggest  Derek with Sunshine Photographics.  Here is a link to the photos he did at our wedding.  Some of the ones from Annunciation are on there.  http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=191053&id=773329322&l=6e166f7d7c

We got 12 hours of photography plus an 8x10 album with a crystal cover for 3000 dollars.   What is most important that I think YOU should really really look for when hiring a photographer is hiring someone that is familiar with Annunciation.  They are one of the strictest churches in Orlando and they are very strict with their photographers.  You can't move around at all and you have to stay in the back of the church and you can't use a flash.  Also, when you get married there, they have the lighting very dim so that the whole church has a bluish tone to it.  I almost thought the lights weren't on but they were on only on the altar.  It makes for a romantic feeling but I can't imagine how difficult it is to take good pictures in such low light from far away.  My photos came out great but if you compare them with the guest's photos, their photos are really yellow looking and there are a lot of shadows.  When I was looking for a photographer, my first question was have you shot a Catholic Mass before and have you done any at Annunciation?  Derek has been in the business for twenty years and he got a four year degree in photography.  He shares a studio with Raining Roses and White Rose Entertainment, two other well known companies.    If you look at my siggy, you can see my review of him for more information.

I used Jessica Leigh. I really clicked with her personality-wise, and she was really affordable. Loved her style and got many compliments about her from wedding guests. Which reminds me I should stop being lazy and get the pro pics on my married bio already!

We are using Nikki Rosa. Our wedding isn't until October but the pictures on her website and in the albums she showed us were beyond amazing. She is also the sweetest person in the world. After our meeting with her I knew I couldn't even think about hiring anyone else. She also really worked with us on her packages. We aren't having a whole day event so she tweaked some things and took away hours of coverage and exchanged it for credits towards things like extra prints and parents albums.

I second Nikki Rosa. Once we met with her we were sold. She has a very impressive portfolio, and was well within our price range. We opted to buy a bunch of extra credits and switch out the engagement photos for a trash the dress session, but even after all of that we could still afford her. She's definitely worth checking out. Here is her website http://www.nikkirosa.com/
    Hope this helps:)

We are having Tabitha McCausland and Molly Brown fly down to Jamaica for our private ceremony, the only people we have coming.  I am confident enough in their work and can't wait to have them there for our special day!
