I will be booking my hotel blocks this week for a hotel in Fishkill and was wondering if anyone had used any that they recommend.  We would like it if there was a bar or place to hang out when we get back.  Any recommendations?

    We used Hilton Garden Inn and hung out at Ruby Tuesday's. It was perfect. And the rooms at HGI get great ratings. (My sister used Fishkill Holiday inn for her wedding, and while it does have a bar / nightclub, I didn't care for the reviews on trip advisor.)

    Ruby Tuesday is right in front of Hilton Garden, so it was win-win. Just make sure to call the bar and let them know you are coming. I called as soon as we left the reception and they stayed open until after 2am.

    What time did you get to Ruby Tuesdays?  We probably won't be back to Fishkill till 12:30 (reception is till 12:00 in Mahopac). 
    I agree that the Holiday Inn it is definately the oldest hotel in the area which is a turnoff but it has a bar.  I know the Siera Suites has a bar but they want $300 to stay open late and then still have a cash bar.  That seems kind of ridiculous to me.

    Our reception ended at 10pm and them we stayed at he golf clubs bar for another hour. I think we left at a little after 11. I remember calling them, from Joe's jeep at about 11:30 and let them know we were on our way. But I also knew that some people would probably be getting there within minutes. But I was in contact with them through-out the last month of planning, and talked to them when I originally made my hotel block. They told me if they know a wedding is coming, they will stay open. But they need to be made aware. Me and DH got there a little after 12.

    See if you can negotiate this fee with them. Our hotel waived their fee for us if we had 15 rooms blocked.

    Sorry, I should have said that my sister got married in late 2005 and we were looking for hotels in late 2009 for our June 2010 wedding. At those times Holiday Inn was still Holiday Inn. They just changed to Ramada. sorry for any confusion!

    yea i knew they changed to ramada.  I talked to them and they aren't doing any remodeling.  just taking the Holiday Inn stuff out and putting in Ramada stuff like paint colors and whatnot.
