We are using Melody of Aria Images Photography. We're paying $300 for our engagement session and $1,500 for 5 hours of wedding coverage. Her wedding pricing varies by how many hours you want. At the end, you get a high-res DVD and the rights to all of your photos.

Her photos are very light and natural. She's not a huge fan of the typical posey wedding shots but that's exactly what we wanted. I think she's great and my FI & I got along with her from the moment we all sat down together.

Are there any photographers out there that don't give you the rights to print your photos?  I've always wondered about that.

There's a lot of really bad reviews about places like The Pros and Bella Pictures (the big franchise photo companies). You can find a good deal with independent photographers and probably get much better customer service. We're using BridgetMcEnaney (click for link), her rates were crazy reasonable and she does great work. I know her 2012 dates are filling up fast though because of that. I've seen some other knotties recommending her as well and they all said she was priced great though I can't say for sure what her rates are since we got a referral discount and her rates may be a little different for 2012. She does include a DVD of images and print rights for everyone.

I paid $1400 for 7 hours of coverage (photographer and his wife/assistant who took care of straightening my dress, etc), a DVD with full resolution images and full printing rights, a leather bound album, and assorted prints. That said, we did get a discount since the photographer is the father of my best friend from high school. He is doing the album at cost and heavily discounted his shooting price since he had to drive 3 hours each way and rent a hotel room.
