Amazon Return Experiences??

We just received all of our fine china from our family. Most of it was wonderfully packed and arrived safely but one vegatable bowl arrived shattered. There was barely any packaging in the box so I'm not suprised it was broken. Have any of you had to deal with this? We called and left a message but I'd like to know what we can expect with them. The bowl cost over $100 so obviously we want them to replace it!

Re: Amazon Return Experiences??

  • I *thought* it depended on the actual seller for the return policy.  But I could be wrong.

It depends on the actual seller.  Did you buy it straight through amazon?  If so, there should have been a packing slip that tells you how to do returns online.

  • I think we finally figured it out! The problem was that we needed to enter the order number to begin the return process online and everytime we entered it a message would pop up saying it was invalid. We finally realized that our order number was one number short, the last number must have been cut off on the packing slip. So we just started at 0 and went up until we found a number that brought us to our order. We followed the instructions and printed a new packing slip. According to Amazon, UPS will be picking it up tomorrow or Thursday. I've never dealt with Amazon before so I hope it goes smoothly!

Glad you figured it out.  In my experience Amazon is great about returns - I've never had any hassle from them.

  • Amazon is one of the easiest places to return something. We had an incident where their driver said they delivered our bowflex and it was not at our house, no slip etc. So, we called and they replaced it no problem.

  • If something is sold FROM Amazon via a seller and they handle it or actually from Amazon the return process is so easy, once it was taking them a little while so I contacted Customer Support and they automatically refunded the money, who knows if that item got lost in the mail?  As for individual sellers, I'm sure it's just as easy, Amazon keeps them honest.  Worst comes to worst, you can still contact Amazon for help with a difficult seller.
