Ceremony/reception Venue ideas for Williamsport and surrounding areas????

Hi there, My finace and I are looking to get married in the Central PA area where I am from, mainly because I grew up here and I don't think my dad is up to the travel of 2+ hours for anything in NY where we will be living.

We want to have an outdoor ceremony, would LOVE something near water of some sort, but all nature is appreciated. We are also history entusiasts, so historic architecture, relevance, etc, anything of that sort is an absolute plus. I always said I was born in the wrong era anyways. Lol.

The reception is more open, it can be indoors or out, just not the run-of-the-mill. I know the go-to places are the Genetti, DiDalvo's, and such. These are beautiful in their own right, just not exactly what we are looking for.

Any help, ideas, directions where to go, or even where to begin are very much appreciated! We are aiming for August 18, 2012.

I have begun the search in Williamsport, but I am more than willing to branch out in all directions to find that one spot.

Thanks in advance!

Good ideas, although my brother and his fiance are getting married at Haywwod's on the water. Lol, so , being that my wedding is 3 months later, I'd say that effectively puts that one out of the running.

Where do I contact regarding the pajama factory?

And who do I contact regard Park Place? That one really seems to strike both of us.

Not sure if you wanted to have them both in the same place or not, but the Acacia Club has a beautiful indoor space for receptions!

We're having ours at Pine Barn Inn, Danville (reception)... holds about 120-140 people... great food... great prices $48/pp includes open bar, hor deuvres, salad, dinner, and wedding cake! :)

Tedd's on the HIll (overlooks the River)... Part of Tedd's Landing Restaurant... It's a gorgeous view of valley and river... they hold ceremonies outside and reception inside their banquet hall!! :) really great place! We decided here for our rehearsal

We also looked at La Primavera (Lewisburg), Front Street Station in Nuremburg, Elizabeth's in Lewisburg (really fancy restaurant - more rehearsal setting)

Thank you all so much for your suggestions and input. I followed up on a lot of these, but ironically, it was my fiancee that found us our place.

We have decided on (and fell in love with) The Pump House Bed & Breakfast outside of Bloomsburg. Its this beautiful place that has gorgeous restored buildings and a creek running through the property with a number of potential ceremony spots. It also has a 1,600 square foot "celebration space" that double as an art studio for the owner. Its eclectic, historical, surrounded in nature, and beautiful. Everything we wanted and more is here!

We just went down and toured the place yesterday. The owner, Doug, couldn't have been more helpful, open, and laid back, just what my already tense personality needs. Lol. I literally cannot wait now, as I know I have such a beautiful and quiet place to have our celebration.Smile
