Maria from Mums The Word

I just want to say how much I love having Maria be our florist for my upcoming wedding. She has by far been my favorite person to work with. I met with her again yesterday to discuss centerpieces and she was so great hepling us pick centerpices that were within our budget and that would really go with our "beachy" theme". I am so glad that it one less thing I have to worry about and I can not wait to see how beautiful everything turns out. If you need a florist that is nice, helpful, reasonable + will give you an honest opinion go with Mums The Word!!

I second Maria. She's awesome. She really understood our vision which is a little complicated and she knew what kind of flowers I liked. I also loved the fact that when I was looking through some flower books and I said I liked certain foiliage and flowers she just flat out told me no because it'd be too expensive. Other florists would just be like okay and then you get bug-eyed because the bill's so high and you don't know why.

Yup... she is my favorite vendor.  She is soooo nice, and totally "gets" you right off the bat.  And she did the same thing with me Northstar... I wanted those big orchids in our hair and she said they were way too pricey, so we opted for a smaller, cheaper orchid!  LOVE her!

I have been really nervous about flowers (I have 2 years lol so I'm sure I'll be fine!), but I've been toying with the idea of silk arrangements on tables or having a friend order flowers and do them. It just all seems like a hassle, especially if this is an awesome vendor and she sounds it :)

If you don't mind me asking what sort of budget (just ballpark) do you have for flowers? I know its x percentage of the budget and all that, I think it would just help me to get actual "real numbers" for things like bouquets and centerpeices and stuff. If its too private of a $ question, I'm sorry. I'm new to all of this ...

I also loooove Maria and can't wait to see my mock up for my 2nd fitting (but I'm sure it will be awesome!)

For a bridal bouquet, 8 bridesmaids bouquets, 11 bouts & delivery it cost about $650, but it definitely would change depending on the flowers you choose.  We are using hydrangea, roses, liseanthus and freesia.

We are using a different florist for centerpieces (family friend).  I'm sure they will come to about $150 per table.  We are doing floating spiraling orchids & calas (with wiring) in huge cylinder vases with floating candles.

For 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, FG, RB, arch flowers, my bouquet, parents/grandparents flowers, roses for cake table and about 30+ centerpiece arrangments not including the vases, I would say it's a little over $1,700. My soon to be mother in law is paying and we are doing hydreangeas, roses and another filler flower.

wow! your flowers and arrangements both sound beautiful and much more reasonably priced then I imagined flowers would be. I've already written down Mum's the Word in my wedding binder for flowers.
thank you for all the info! you've calmed my flower anxiety :)
