So my wedding colors are black and red, and I know I want BM dresses to be short. I like the idea of a red dress with a black overlay because it really captures the look I'm going for with the whole wedding. I haven't been to any salons, but the dresses I'm finding on google that I like are all listed under the prom or party sections. Keep in mind when answering that I have 4 bridesmaids, all of whom will be 21 or under at the time of the wedding, and that I'm not SUPER concerned with being traditional. Also all of their body styles will work with most dresses so that's not a huge issue. But do you think that this style looks too teeny-bopper for a wedding party even though we are all pretty young?

Re: Do you think this works for BM dresses? PIP
The first one is ok, but the sparkles are throwing me off.
Second one looks very nice.
Third one looks like something for a night of clubbing / dancing.
Are the dresses within the budget that your BMs are comfortable with?
What about a short, cute sexy red dress with a black sash and black accessories? You can give it a gothic vibe with the right styling, if that's what you are trying to do.

My favorite!

Or this with maybe a black flower added to the shoulder:

The second one is the only one I like. The first looks like a junior high school dance.... and the third looks VERY nightclubish.

The first is too high school semi-formal looking and the third is inappropriate unless your having your wedding in a club.
What about having dresses made? There are some classy patterns that would allow you to do the red dress with black overlay like you like, and could be a very affordable option if you find a good seamstress.
Specifically I'm thinking of (the one pictured on the left):

Of the dresses you PIP'd, definitely #2. The others seem way inappropriate for a wedding.

Close up it looks maybe like leopard print, but its color and then black lace over it....
