HELP! Shower dates

Hi I am getting married and planning my friends jack and Jill wedding shower..we want to do it in Bristol and have like a 4th of July BBQ style but were having trouble figuring out what date to do it on..the 4th is a Wednesday an we don't want to do it exactly on the 4th so I was thinking either Saturday before or after or the 3rd even though it's a Tuesday..In our area most people don't work the 4th..so I need opnions please!! Thanks!

    I would definitely avoid the 3rd - a lot of people in Bristol, as you know, have parties on the 4th and thusly need the night after work on the 3rd to get ready for that. So I'd suggest going with the Saturday before or after. It's really a roll of the dice which you pick. I'd think that if people were going out of town, it would be the 4th thru the 8th. So you might get a better turn out the Sat before.

    I agree w/ dberrett - that the Saturday before is probably going to be the date that the most people can make it.  I think if you do it on the 3rd, some people may have plans for the 4th or will be traveling on that day/night for a trip.

    Either way, I think 4th Jack/Jill shower sounds like a blast!
