Photobooth?

Hello Ladies!

Looking for information on a photobooth. We are thinking we want to do a photobooth set up without the actual photobooth.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Photobooth?

  • I've seen a couple options - one of the brides on here a while back had this cool photograph wall dealie where you stood behind it but from the front, you were in a picture frame and could mug it up.  I think that it has gone through a few brides since I see it up for sale every now and again.

I've been to a wedding where they just had a dedicated spot for pictures and their photog hung that white background paper stuff they put up at school picture day.  In full disclosure, the paper got trashed by the end of the night from people's shoes poking holes in it but the good part is that you can get HUGE groups in the shot.

the thing to remember if you don't go with a manned booth is that you're going to either have to have someone stand with the camera all night, hire a photog to do it, or risk your camera getting taken by someone.  I wish I could say that people don't steal stuff at weddings but someone stole 6 of our rented napkins at mine.  I still wonder which of our guests lifted those.
  • You could also go to a fabric store and put that on the wall.  That way you could incorporate your colors too.

Any reason you're opposed to an actual booth? I personally think the photo walls and "un-booths" look pretty cheesy and homemade, plus witty makes a good point that one of your friends or relatives would need to be your photographer for the evening - not a fun task for someone who wants to enjoy your reception.

If you need a recommendation, we loved working with The Photoboxx (clicky) and it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of our reception. We got a sweet deal (50% off) thanks to one of their booking specials, which they run frequently. We were impressed with the quality of the photo strips, the appearance of the booth and the great customer service. I think colstj is also using them for her wedding.

We are using them and they have been great to work with in customizing our photo strips and we are so excited to have them there the day of our wedding!
  • Thanks for the info everyone!

My reason behind not wanting a booth was because we thought it would be more fun to be able to get more people into the photos. We also were thinking of building a super big frame out of birch to have people pose behind and that wouldn't work in a booth.

    Photoboxx seems awesome though!

trixie549 or anyone else -- where did you hear about Photoboxx's promotion / booking special? They don't seem to have a newsletter or anything to sign up for. We're really interested in them, but only at a lower price.
