Danversport Yacht Club?

Did anyone have their wedding here or attend one?  How was the food???  What did you get for an entree?

I have not had my wedding yet, but both BeantownMama and I are getting married there.  I have heard nothing but great reviews from everyone.  My FI's sisters had there prom there and said the food was phenomenal.  I am sure there are other Knotties on here who have been to weddings there, but off the top of my head, I can't remember who!

July 23, 2011....we are footing the bill ourselves and would have LOVED getting married this year, but it wasn't gonna happen. AFter 8 years togther, one more won't make much of a difference.  I have a HUGE Italian family, and we will have between 225-250 in the ballroom.  I fell in love the minute that I visited!

I fell in love with it too!!!  Im going to do November of this year.  And even though they told me it might look a little thin in there with under 200, Im still doing it.  After seeing the ballroom I couldnt bear to book the smaller rooms.

we met with Heather for our tour, and she was great.  I have found them to be really easy to work with so far, and trust me....we have called with a few really stupid questions.

I've been to 2 weddings there...1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The food is great and my bf that had hers in the ballroom said everything was perfect.

I'm going to look at the place this weekend for my wedding. I'm thinking of the Lighthouse Room since the wedding will only be about 70 people. Any thoughts on the Lighthouse room? Your posts are making me really excited!!!

Dove- Go see Nancy!  She is the best.  I didnt view the lighthouse room cause we have 200 people. I love the fact that they are so upfront about costs.  Their packages include all fees, taxes, etc.  Nothing is hidden.  THe only thing I didnt like was that I am booking the big ballroom, so I have use of the Gazebo.  But if there is another wedding booked, I dont get to use the other picture spots, like the fountain and the terrace looking thing.  But since im off season, they dont think that it will be a problem.  just make sure you ask about that!  But you are gonna love it there!

Dove, one thing that I found when looking at venues and price comparing is that while the prices at DYC may look high, they do include a lot-taxes, gratuities, fees, cake, etc.  I worked out figures on notecards, and it was $300 more to have it at DYC than another venue we looked at, and that venue didn't include a cake!

I had my shower in the Lighthouse Room last month.   It was beautiful!  The service was excellent, the food was good (not excellent, but good) and the room is beautiful with a great view.  It was a little confusing to get to the room, but I loved it.

We served a bunch of passed apps and cheese and crackers.  I can't speak for those, as I was told to arrive 30 minutes after everyone else and they were just finishing up passing the food as I walked in.  For the meal, we got salad (they had 2 dressings on the table, which I liked) and the rolls were good.  Then there was a choice between stuffed chicken (which looked good to me) and baked seafood (which I got and thought was very yummy.)  For sides there was broccoli and roasted potatoes.  I just thought the broccoli was overcooked (very soft) and the potatoes were very soft, and rubbery-ish, like they'd been microwaved.  But still good!  Oh, and dessert was the best part.  The cake was fine, like any other cake, but we had these little individual apple crum things with ice cream that were EXCELLENT.  It's a beautiful place and they do a nice job there.  Best of luck!
