Festive Board Catering in York?

Has anyone used Festive Board catering or been to a wedding that used them?  How are they?  How was the food?

I won a gift card for their company, but I worry that when I go in for my inital meeting, they are going to "jack" up the prices so that it looks like I'd get a discount with the gift card.  I just don't want to get jipped.  I am on a tight budget and don't want to get screwed over.

I wouldn't mention that you have a gift card. Then you know you're getting the actual prices, not a higher version.

I can only say that I've eaten at the deli and they pride themselves on the freshness of their food. This is a small family run business, so they know their customers are important. HTH!

If you went to a wedding show and signed up to win a gift card or an amount off of catering there, they offer it to EVERYONE who signs up.  My girlfriend and I (both brides to be) got the same call and $250 "gift card" from them after the wedding expo in York.

That's what I was afraid of.  However, they are significantly less than most other caterers I met with if you book early.  And they have their own linens, china, etc.  I met with Gingerbabies in York and he'll charge you by the hour for the workers.  So if our reception went over, we'd end up paying more at the end.  Festive Board, you get them all day long.  I can't say I blame him calling everyone for the gift card to get business.  The guy that runs Festive Board is really nice and tentative.  We're booking him as our caterer this week.
