I need help

This will be my second marriage. His first.I have two daughters and he has 3 daughters (1 that lives with us full time).
My daughter that is 22 will be my maid of honor and my 16 yr old will be a bridesmaid. He wants his daughter that is 15 to be a brides maid as well but then what do we do with other two they are teenagers as well and will be here from PA for the wedding? I need a role for all the Teenagers (4 of them) to make it fair. ANY IDEAS!!!!

Re: I need help

  • His daughters can stand up on his side perhaps?  I def would either have them all part of the wedding party, or none.

I think if you include some of the kids as bridemaids, and not others, there will be hurt feelings.  I am honestly not a fan of making children bridesmaids, but in this instance, I don't see any way around it.

Just make them all bridesmaids/jr. bridesmaids, and let them stand on his side.  There is no rule that says because they are female, they have to stand on your side.
  • Yes, you have to use all of them or none of them. You can't start tiering your relationships with your children.
  • I think its a great idea that some stand on his side!

  • Let them all be bridesmaids or groomsmaids. The ones that got left out could be incredibly hurt. I have 3 kids (20 year old son, 17 and 15 year old daughters) and they're all standing up for me. Sides do not have to be gender specific, and kids can easily walk up an aisle and hold some flowers.

  • I agree with PPs. Either let them be bridesmaids, or have them stand on his side. There's definitely nothing wrong with either of those options.
