Wedding Reviews!

Hey ladies!  I don’t post here much, but I found all of these vendors in this community, so I wanted to share my reviews for our wedding that was on September 22, to hopefully help out future brides!

Fort Worth Community Arts Center (venue) A++
We held our ceremony and reception in 2 separate galleries, and the artwork that had displayed was amazing!  Marla, the venue coordinator, was so easy to work with and always responded to my questions the same day.  We spent less than $2000 on the venue, but I feel like it should have been more expensive.  The only downside is parking is not free, but we provided parking passes for our guests, that we paid for, so that they wouldn’t have to spend $5 to park.  Back in April, in the middle of planning, we found out that Fort Worth changed it’s huge Day In The District event to our wedding date, but Marla was so accommodating and made sure that all of those events would be held outside, and only wedding guests were allowed inside, so that we could have our wedding inside the galleries and not worry about strangers walking through the middle of our wedding.  I loved how the value of this venue and its uniqueness!

Di Fiori (florist) A+
I loved working with Robin and Katie!  When I first met with Robin, she completely understood my vision and had amazing ideas that fit into our small budget!  They always responded to emails the same day, and were very understanding when my check was lost in the mail (but later found) because they moved a few doors down.  All of the décor was amazing, and they even brought our bouquets to the hotel, so that we could have them for our photos before the ceremony.  They were extremely easy to deal with!  The only disappointing thing was there were white hydrangeas in the bouquets that began wilting while only being outside for 30 minutes.  They had put the stems in vial of water, but it was an unusually warm day for September, and the flowers just couldn’t stand up to the heat.  This was definitely not their fault, just the nature of the flowers.

McGowan Images (photographer) A++
After hearing all of their amazing reviews on this site, I just knew we had to book them if we could fit them in our budget, and I’m so glad we did!  They know exactly what they’re doing, and I knew I could completely trust them on the wedding day, which helped keep me more relaxed.  From the photos we’ve seen on their blog so far, we’re completely blown away by our photos, and we can’t wait to see more!  So many people have already commented on our photos, and I’m so glad we have these beautiful photos to treasure for the rest of our lives!  Here’s a link to our photos: http://www.mcgowanimages.com/blog/?p=17268

Amy Lacey (day-of coordinator) A+
I really wanted a coordinator for the day-of, because I wanted didn’t want to have to worry about a single thing, but it just wasn’t in our budget.  However, a couple of months before the wedding, I heard about her, and got in touch with her about pricing.  She is definitely perfect for the budget-minded brides, and was always there to answer my questions!  She was there for the rehearsal and wedding day, helping to set up décor and keep everything on track!  She is so much fun to be around, and we became fast friends!  I highly recommend a day-of coordinator, because then my family didn’t have to do any work, and I was just able to enjoy our wedding day!

Terry Costa (bridal salon) A
Everyone here was super friendly, and when I found “the” dress, the sales consultant told me of an upcoming trunk show, so that I could save 20% on the dress, which I thought was very thoughtful of her!  When my dress came in, one size larger was delivered, even though the correct size was ordered.   Even though it wasn’t Terry Costa’s fault they offered to order me another one, and rush ship it, or to pay for my alterations.  I just had them order me another one, since we still had plenty of time before the wedding.  I was very happy with their customer service!

Aspen Catering (catering) A+
Nanette was a joy to work with and always on top of things.  The food was amazing, and the service on the day-of was perfect!

Ruth Robbins (cake) A+
She had so many cake flavors to choose from, and they all tasted amazing!  All of our guests raved about not only the flavor of the cake, but the design, as well!  I was somewhat unsure on the cake design, so Ruth drew out some ideas, and completely understood my vision!  Instead of a groom’s cake, we had her make two cheesecakes, which were amazing as well!

Becky Fowler (alterations) A++
Amazing!  My dress fit like a glove, and Becky is just the sweetest.  She makes you feel the most beautiful bride!  I wish I had more dresses to have her alter, because I miss working with her!

Men’s Wearhouse (tuxes) A
They were easy to work with.  There was a mix-up with a tie 2 days before the wedding, but it was an easy exchange at the store the next day, no problem.

TLC Event Rentals (chairs) A
As far as I know, delivery and pick-up was on time, and there were no issues.  They were always easy to get in touch with.

Adam Kegg Videography (video) A+
Unfortunately, my wedding was his last wedding as a videographer, but he is super sweet and was so easy to work with.  He was recommended my McGowan Images, and, although we haven’t received our video yet, I know it will be amazing, because he does amazing work!  He can be somewhat difficult to get in touch with because he is a nurse at a hospital, which is why he is retiring from videography.  He wants to spend more time with his family and go back to school.  I can’t wait to see our video!

The Stoneleigh Hotel (wedding night) A++
We were upgraded to one of their Signature Suites and even got a sweet congratulatory card with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!

Haute Façade (hair and make-up) A+
I worked with Kelly, and she did an amazing job on my hair and makeup!  Everything stayed in place all night, even with the hot temperatures outside, and I felt so beautiful!

Uno’s Downtown Fort Worth (rehearsal dinner) A+
I worked with the manager, Todd, who helped me create a menu for the night, and made sure that we had the entire back area of the restaurant, since they don’t have a separate party room.  The service that night was perfect, and everyone was so friendly!  They even took pictures of the event to post on their facebook page!

We were so lucky that we had so many great vendors, but I found all of these through this community, so I knew we would be able to trust them!  Thank you ladies for helping us find all of these amazing vendors that made our day perfect!
