Anyone getting married at Lighthouse Point Park?

You don't realize all the little things that go into planning a wedding until you're doing it. We are getting married at LPP in june. As much as I LOVE this venue its definitely a stressful one. You have to think of every tiny detail yourself. But it is also pretty fun. I was just wondering if anyone else was getting married there what your set up is going to be like? Or just share some fun things. Just wanna see what other people are doing with this venue. Also where are you holding the ceremony??

    We are having our reception at Anthony's which is right next to Lighthouse Point.

    Oh yea I drive by there whenever I go up to LPP. Looks like a beautiful place!!!

    I had a friend who had their reception there last year. They got married right down the street at the Catholic Church St. Bernadette.

    I'm getting married there in August.  Planning is definitely stressful but i'd have to disagree with the above post about Sabrina not being helpful.  She has given me names of vendors and has been extremely helpful with any questions that i've had.  I actually just visted LPP on Sunday and was actually a little bummed out that they painted half way up the back of the building... But not because I thought the whole building needed to be painted... But because I fell in love with its rustic historic look.  Who knows, they could paint the entire thing.. I also noticed that they bought new chairs which is nice.. They're not much better from the ones that they previously had... But they are a better color and not as used.  Considering they have done a ton of Weddings there I thought they would have just gone with the white padded folding chairs that everyone seems to use.... I also noticed that they were replacing the dance floor.. which is also nice because it got sort of damaged from the hurricane.

    I'm looking to get married there myself later this year and I love the fact that because they arent a "wedding factory", they are pretty open to allowing stuff.

    Who are you guys using for a photographer?

    I just booked my wedding there for July 2013!   I have dreamed about getting married there since I first moved to New Haven 4 years ago.  So excited!

    I'm glad someone mentioned that they got new chairs, I'll have to check those out before I decide if I'm going to rent white ones or not.  So far, I actually feel like planning it will be less stressful than I'd thought, but maybe not!  I feel like the caterer will take care of the important setup stuff, the room is already decorated (aside from the flowers), and so far Sabrina has been very helpful and quick to answer my questions so I'm happy!

    I'm a little nervous about getting married during the hottest month of the year - but looking at having it slightly later in the day (4-5pm) and we're going with a beach BBQ kind of theme, so hopefully it'll work out OK.   I got a great quote from Sweet Relief Catering - they are very very reasonable!

    Fingers crossed we're about to book a date in summer 2013.  I love it!  We are thinking BBQ/clambake for food. 

    What are some of the details you didn't think about until the last minute?

    So I want to get married at LPP but im from Mississippi, where the weather is humid and the mosquito is the state bird (ha). So my question is: what is the weather like in mid-March? That's when we're wanting to get married, but my fiancee is scared that she's going to freeze to death on the beach. Any answer would be helpful! :)

    To Karlipants ----- thank you for the updates I booked this place last year and we are getting married aug 10 2013. I didnt know they were getting new chairs, painting, and new dance floor....im nervous about how the painting will look and the dance floor looked cute so hopefully all will look tasteful.

    I'll have to call Sabrina --- wish she would have notified me. Sabrina hasn't been helpful at all for me. Yes she gave me suggestions but took forever to respond to me and I was supposed to meet her at LPP and she never showed up and said she never had intentions to show up...i asked how could we see it w/out her there????? luckily there was a wedding being set up and they let us look around.

    Still trying to decided on a florist and whether I should get fans....
