How did you go about finding a place to get your wedding gown preserved? I posted asking for recs on my local board, and I've heard nothing. I just want to make sure to find a place that doesn't screw up the gown ...
Haven't thought about it yet. But I think I'm just going to take it to the place I bought it from when I'm ready. I might possibly be lending my veil to a friend for her wedding in May, so I'd want to wait until I get it back and have them preserved together.
I'm taking it to the shop where I purchased the dress. I called them asking for a reccommendation and they said they do it there for $215 (cleaning and preservation). I don't have time to shop around really, so that's where it will go.
I also bought the DB kit (you get a discount when your purchase it at the same time as your dress) for around $90 and I sent it in the Wednesday after my wedding (was on the 26th) and it arrived back at my parents house today. Super easy and convenient, I would go with that. The price includes shipping and insurance as well!
In Response to Re: wedding gown preservation?: I also worried this problem, I just bought my wedding dress from hotinshop.com a China dress site. I love it so much, but my home is a moisture, afraid ruin this dress....
Re: wedding gown preservation?
It's going to cost about $190.
DB does it for $189, that includes shipping I believe. Here's the link for that.
