Buying dresses online. Which site is better?

Interested if anyone has used some of the online websites to custom order your wedding dresses.  I was looking at weddinglande.com , simplybridal.com or lightinthebox.com to name a few.  Thanks!

Re: Buying dresses online. Which site is better?

  • I havent purchased mine yet BUT, I did just finish reading the knot's Look Book, and happened upon a dress I saw two month ago online and almost purchased. It was on a completely different website, but had the same model. I happened to notice at the top of the page in red "Brides Beware", a link to a list of websites that are selling knock offs. I almost purchased one of said knock offs. Give me a minute, and I will find the link.

  • Check out the FAQ for A&A sticky at the top of the board - it has a list of sites that we know sell knock-offs.

PLEASE don't buy your dress from a knock-off site. We've heard way too many horror stories here from brides who have that just end up with horrible, unsusable dresses (if their dress even arrives at all).

  • I would not recommend buying a dress online...

Whew, I looked at a LOT of pages yesterday, haha, sorry that took so long, I don't know if any of these are any different than those, but I know I had been on some of these completely unaware that they were knock offs.

  • Wedding gown designers do not allow their dresses to be sold online. What you're buying is a knock off. Most are really poorly made.
  • Those are all knock-off sites.  Don't use them.

  • I am planning on using the websites to select a few dress #s and then heading to the store to physically see what I am buying, especially after running across that last night.

  • I would recommend checking out fabulous u. this is a Chinese gown site that sells their own gowns. not replicas. they took photos of the gowns they made and sell them instead of featuring all the designers' photos like many other replica gown sites.
Also, I would suggest checking out sites that you are planning on buying gowns from on consumer sites such as http://www.complaintsboard.com or
    Hoping you find it helpful.

  • Check out dress2sale.com, it's where I got mine. They have a ton of affordable dresses and you can choose any color. They also do free custom fitting, just send them your measurements. I had mine custom fitted and when I got it, it fit perfectly. :)
