Honeymoon

Does anyone know where is a great place to go on a honeymoon that is not over $2000 for one couple. Prefer not in the U.S. We are looking for great crystal clear beaches with activities. Help please. Planning for end of sept or beginning of oct.

Re: Honeymoon

  • Costa Rica is a great option to look at. Usually air fair to his location isn't crazy expensive like it is to go to Europe. Anywhere in the Caribbean is a good option or if you are open to options then check out cruise packages. It might be your best bet. GL!
  • Thank you ya I'm trying to look at packages for there that include everything but wasn't sure what sites to look at but thank you :
  • Have you tried looking at the travel package deals that are on groupon or living social? Maybe you can find something there.
  • Good sites to try are cheapcaribbean.com, travelzoo.com and sniqueaway.com. My dad and his wife scored a great trip to Aruba last year from cheap Caribbean! Good luck!
  • Ya I'm trying living social and groupon but nothing good so far. And thx ill look into this sites! Thx everyone for ur help!!! :
  • From experience, I suggest Iberostar resort in the Dominican Republic. They are all inclusive and the airfare is cheap from MIA. They also have other resorts in Europe.

Look into cruising!!!  I have been on two cruises and they are the best vacation ever!! Booking on for the honeymoon if I can ever pick a date for the wedding... You can get so many things in cruising like multiple destinations, fun activities and they give you so much on board. It is the cheapest vacation you will ever take but so fun and so laid back. I will never go on a normal vacay again because I love the "not having a sence of time" on the boat. Everyone says they over charge but the drinks are like 5 bucks for alcohol and they give you the option of putting down a cash deposit when you get one and give you daily updates on how much you spent and will cut you off at a certain limit so you do not over spend!! Worth looking into!!
No passport needed either unless you leave and come home from two different ports...

  • Puerto Rico!
Not sure if they have all inclusives but the island is amazing and there are so many things to do. It wasn't expensive at all, the food is great and there are tons of hotels.

I'd recommend a cruise as well since it is all inclusive (somewhat) and you really don't have to worry about ANYTHING! Most relaxing vacay ever. However, you DO need a passport, no matter make sure you have a current one.

  • Thanks everyone for your help!!! :
  • cancun is also a good option in that price range. My FI and I have the same budget and were able to find a good all inclusive hotel and flight for that amount. Let me know if you want the info! HTH

  • We just started planning and we have pretty much the same budget.  I was looking at Cancun and the Dominican Republic.  I'll watch this thread for some ideas too!

I'm finding The Knot a little hard to navigate because there's so much info on it that I just get lost LOL, but I hope I get better at it!  What I can find has been really good,

You shoul definitely look into Mexico.  My fiance and I were able to get 7 nights and airfare for an all inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta for a little bit over your budget- but only because we sprung for a bigger room.  But it can definitely be done.  A lot of the all inclusives in Mexico offer these airfare/resort packages.  HTH!
  • Thanks everyone I'm really looking into it. : Most likely going to do something in the Caribbean's like a cruise. Or jus fly and stay at one of them. :
