Need Ceremony Decoration Ideas- Water Themed

We have great ideas for reception decorations for our upcoming water themed wedding (submerged flowers in tall glass with lampshades on top for centerpieces; fountains decorating the edge of the dancefloor and the guestbook table, etc).
However, we're both stumped when it comes to adding touches of water in our ceremony decor. We're having a modern Episocopalian wedding in the Episcopal church I grew up in.
Any ideas?

  • Rent a fountain?

Is there a baptismal fount?  Would the church allow you to float flowers or candles in it? Note:  some place might find that disrespectful but your Reverend would be able to tell you.
  • You could do rain drops dangling from the ends of the pews/off the chairs, though you'd have to be careful they didn't look like tears I suppose haha.  If you are having an aisle runner maybe you could do a blue one and cut it wavy like a river? Or maybe you could have mini-verisions of your center-pieces somewhere like at the foot of the altar? Just some thoughts! hope this helped :)

  • Shades of blue and sea-green tulle draped around the ceremony area might look nice-- I imagine it having a subtle underwater vibe if you also covered the windows with a sheer light blue fabric.  Also decorative bowls or clear vases of water with river rocks at the bottom and floating petals/flowers could be used along the steps up to the altar area.
  • Thanks! Those are great ideas! I'll see what we're allowed to do with the chapel! :-)
