bridal shower themes

hey yall!!  i was wanting a themed bridal shower nut not sure what theme. i want something fun and not tacky. any ideas?

    I've heard of "kitchen" themes (the gifts are usually kitchen items and the cake is kitchen themed etc). 

    I've heard of lingere (weird if 80 yr old Grammy will be there...)

    I LOOOOVE the hat idea, but you may think it's too "tacky".

    Garden Party. You can have tea and biscuits. Wear gloves and hats?

    My mom just threw mine for me yesterday which was a wine pairing and food tasting party which was perfect for me because learning about pairings is my new "thing". 

    She held it at her favortie wine bar (they didn't charge her for the space because we went during normal business hours which are typically slow for them) and I really think it was a hit with everyone.  We had about 12 guests and each got to sample 5 wines with delicious food that my mom and the owner created pairings for.  And as everyone streamed in for the party they each got a glass of champagne and a toasting refill before the pairings got underway. 

    For me this was the perfect shower because I didn't have a lot of guests (and all of them were of legal drinking age), everyone really seemed to enjoy the food and wine pairings, and the focus was more on everyone having a good time than a huge spotlight on me.

    I was going to recommend the wine tasting/wine pairing theme as well. 

    Other themes:
    -Girls Night Out/ Sex and the City
    - High Tea
    - Brunch (you really could make this a theme)

    Just think of your interests, lifestyle, and own personality for inspiration!
