Advice on Target Field Wedding!!

We are REALLY wanting a wedding at Target Field!!! I have sent an inquire, but I am still waiting to hear back. I am just wondering if anyone is (or has) doing/done this, and if so any feedback of how it was to pick a date there, how the day went, etc.

Thanks!
Laura

SO JEALOUS!!! If I had not already put a deposit down on our reception site after going in the Metropolitan Club there for the first time I so would have had ours there as well!  Good luck!!

I inquired there and have a ton of information! PM me your email and I'll send it to you! I have a ton of stuff regarding spaces, costs, etc! I didn't end up going there because my mom voted no against it :) But their spaces are fantastic!

I have a friend that has blocked off a few dates of theirs for next year.

I guess how it works because they cant book anything until the baseball scheduled comes out - couples reserve three dates that they want and then once the schedule comes out they give you a call and hopefully one of your dates is free. My friend is 3rd on the list so they have a pretty good chance of getting a date but I dont know what their waiting list looks like now.

We are having our wedding there on November 6! I don't know for sure, but I think ours will be one of the first 5-8 they will have there. I'm so excited!

We are having our ceremony in the Champion's Club and the reception in the Metropolitan Club. Prices are pretty comparable to other Minneapolis venues. You do have to use their caterer, which is DNC. The food prices are a little high for the amount of food you get on the plate (we had our tasting a few weeks ago) and they only let you taste 2 dishes at your tasting which I thought was odd. The food was really good though. The liquor is also pretty expensive and they don't sell kegs for events so you have to pay per bottle of beer.

It has definitely been frustrating working with the Twins. Because baseball is their strong suit, not weddings, it was a slow process to get a contract figured out and to get their event planners to respond to questions, especially when the Twins are in town, which is why I hired my own coordinator to handle all that stuff.

It's a great space and I'm really excited, it was just a rocky start for us! Good luck!

Oh yeah, and it's true about picking dates. If you want to get married during the season you have to wait until the schedule for next year comes out. We chose November 6 because it was the first date available that we could get guaranteed since baseball is over by then. We were originally planning May of 2011, but I'm too anal to have to wait to find out our date so we picked the first guaranteed one.

I am getting married and having our reception at Target Field in less than 3 weeks. The event coordinators have been more than accommodating; have made suggestions on where to cut things to maintain our budget, let us come in for tours again and again. Jessica D and David C have been wonderful. The caterers (DNC) have been semi-difficult to get into contact with and less-than accommodating on several catering related items. Overall it has been a great experience planning with them and I am very excited!

Feel free to contact me for more info!!

I am also planning on having my wedding there.  I called back in April 2010 to reserve 4 dates for Sept of 2011.  I finally just found out that I got one of the dates in September now that the schedule is out.  I agree with most of everything people are saying as far as slow response time.  I'm hoping by next year, they will have things a little more figured out.  The caterer has been annoying to work with becasue she tends to forget to get back to you and takes a long time.  I'm really hoping it gets better!

I would love to hear what others have to say about their experience after their wedding or with planning their wedding. Advice too!

    Hello Bride!!
    CONGRATS!
I was married on home plate of Target Field on Saturday September 25th and it was ABSOLUTELY perfect! We were the 2nd wedding on home plate, the first formal.  :)

Our reception was in the Townball Tavern and it was so much fun.
Let me know what info you are looking for - I have some GREAT connections!

We were married there last Saturday, 10/16/10, right above the first baseline. It was less than 1/3 of the cost of getting married ON the field yet we still had access to the field for photos, we had use of the First Base Lounge for our pre/post-ceremony time (snacking, getting ready, waiting for the guests to go from sections 106 & 107 to the metropolitan club). We were on a VERY tight budget as we were both single parents (he has a 6 year old daughter, I have a 7 year old son) and paying for everything ourselves. If it is something you really want...MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

We had a Target Field wedding & reception of our dreams for 100 people for $10,000!!!
