Cakes in Milwaukee?

Just wondering if anyone has found a good cake company to work with?  Looking for someone reasonable.

What's reasonable? We used what we thought was a moderately-priced vendor - not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. We used The Extra Special Touch Bakery in Waukesha. Diane works out of her home and does free tastings. Our cake was 4 tiers with some sheet cake for extra servings, it cost about $600 for 205 servings. We also recently received a coupon for a free one-year anniversary cake, which we thought was a sweet surprise.

I used A little Slice of Heaven in Oconomowoc.  Lynn Reimer is the woman who runs the company and works out of her home.  For 200 servings it was $800 and that included $100 in delivery fee to central WI and our cake was her delicious cheesecake and cheesecake is always more expensive.

Simma's in Wauwautosa - about $600 for 200 servings, delivery and free anniversary cake. It would have been cheaper (about $500?) but we opted to "upgrade" the frosting and one of the fillings. I

We are using Cake & Bake in Germantown.  The yellow cake is delicious.  They are $3.25 a slice with a specialty filling.  You can also do kitchen cakes, that when sliced, look just like the display cake, and they cost 1/2 the full priced cake.   Good Luck in your search.

Aggie's Bakery is really yummy and everyone there is superfriendly and willing to do whatever you have in mind.  My fiance and I went to Simma's and their cake was amazing, but the lady who worked with us wasn't as friendly, she didn't even sit down with us she stood and gave us a price quote and didn't go over anything with us.  She quoted me $800 for a cake for 200 people.  If you want anything cheaper than that you are limited in the flavors to choose from.

I'm really excited for our cake from Delicately Delicious in Cedarburg!  She makes the best cake with European Buttercream frosting (yum) which is as close to Harter's Bakery as I've been able to find.  I don't like sugary frosting or that whip cream stuff either.  We ordered a four tiered cake (each cake with four layers of cake and three layers of fill) for under $500!!!  Our first cake order with her was for my Grandma's 90th Birthday and we had a huge round cake for $55.  OUTSTANDING!

She is amazing!!! We got a 4 tier cake, each layer a different flavor/filling, plus half a sheet cake with a separate anniversery cake for $360.  She works out of her home, but just call for an appointment.
