What's a good "lady's" cocktail?

We are allowed to bring in our own alcohol, so we are doing wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail.

Well, Brian and a lot of his friends' favorite drink is the Manhattan. It's more of a "gentleman's drink" IMO so I thought maybe we could serve a "lady's drink" also. I was thinking it would be cool to pick something from the same timeframe, but I looked up when the Manhattan originated and it was ~1870's. So now I am at a loss!

Does anyone know what cocktails were around back then? Or, ignore the timeframe and list your fave's!

Pink Lady Cocktail

Fill bar glass with 3 or 4 pieces of cracked ice and white of 1 egg
1/4 Jigger Apple Jack
1 Jigger Distilled Dry Gin
2 dashes Grenadine
Juice of quarter of a lime
Shake well,
Strain into glass

Ooh love the name of that one.

I'm sorry I should have mentioned also that they need to be something that can be pre-mixed as we are serving them in a iced drink dispenser for the reception.

How about mint juleps? According to wkipedia this drink was invented in 1803, so a little older than Manhattans but mint julep sounds very old-fashioned to me (in a good way). Here's the link to wikipedia.

UV vodka sells premixed cocktails... I know it isn't from that time, but there are different variations. There is blue raspberry lemonade which is a light blue color and Cherry lemonade which is pink.

Well, Manhattans are one of the sweetest cocktails I like, which makes me a poor judge of "lady's cocktails", but two with a bunch of citrus that brighten them up are:

Sidecar (1922 according to wikipedia)
Jack Rose (also 1920's, and a lovely pink shade)

And I hadn't heard of this one before (probably because it's not my style) but it kept popping up on a quick google -- the Bamboo, which is exactly the right time period. A bunch of the recipes call for both orange and Angostura bitters, but you could get away with just buying Angostura orang bitters (Angostura brand regular bitters are just the herbal ones, some orange bitters are just orange-y and not really herbal, but the orange ones from Angostura are also herbal. And are my go-to bitters for Manhattans as well.

What about a gimlet? It's gin or vodka and lime juice - and Betty Draper on Madmen orders it so it must be ladylike, LoL! It was popular in the 1920s:

this lady likes Maker's Mark Manhattans, but I don't think that is traditionally considered a "lady's" drink.

I made this for a party. Very easy and very good.

1 (1.75 liter) bottle raspberry lemonade
1 3/4 cups coconut rum
1 cup amaretto liquer

Combine raspberry lemonade, coconut rum, and amaretto liqueur in a large pitcher. Stir well, and serve over ice.

Makes 10 cups
