Happy Hump Day!

Hi Everyone!

So yesterday was pretty eventful for me- I went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday morning for my knee. He thinks it's most likely a stress fracture, which will require at least 6 weeks on crutches and in a brace :-(  However, if it's not a stress fracture, then it's a tear to my meniscus. If it is a meniscus tear, I'll need surgery plus 8 weeks on crutches and possibly physical therapy. I'll take the stress fracture lol. I'm getting an MRI this week, then I'll go back to the doctor a couple of days after that to see what needs to be done.

The most frustrating part of this is although it's my left leg, I can't drive my car because it's a manual transmission. My fiance's is too, and since we don't have any close friends or family up here, there is no one to switch cars with. My FI drove me to my work in Monroeville at 6:30 because he works downtown, and now has to fight the traffic to get back through the squirrel hill tunnels. I usually get out of work at 4:30 (get here at 7:30), but my FI gets out of work at 6, so I will have to wait until he gets out of work, walks to his car from PPG place to the garage at station square, then fights traffic again through the tunnels to pick me up in Monroeville :-(

So very frustrating right now. We are hoping to borrow my best friend's FI's car. He has a Jeep Cherokee he doesn't use so I may be able to drive it. We will just have to go to Kentucky on Saturday to pick it up.

Through all of this though my FI has been wonderful, not only driving me everywhere, but carrying me up and down the 2 flights of stairs at our apartment, fixing dinner, getting me ice packs, etc. He even helps me put my brace on and ties my left shoe if I'm wearing tennis shoes :-) He doesn't complain at all even though it's a huge inconvience for him. He just says 'life happens' and takes care of what he can. Yep, I'm pretty proud :-)

    Good Morning!!

Today I am working half a day and then that's it for 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!

Last night, I got all my wedding day beauty done. :) I left work at 3:45 for a doctor's appointment which was a bikini wax, then got my eye brows threaded, then got my gel manicure. FI was getting a haircut downtown, so I went down and waited for him at an outside bar. While I was waiting I got my bridesmaids cards done and nursed a martini. Once he arrived, we went to dinner and then I went to tanning. It was a fun evening.

One bad piece of news... FMIL had a biopsy done on her left breast last week and it came back positivie. We did expect this because she had breast cancer about 10 years ago. :( She meets with the oncologist tomorrow and hopefully next week will have a masectomy. We don't know about chemo yet.

Sari- I'm sorry about  your knee and your car! That really stinks. I hope you can work something out.

Not much going on here.. work is going to be slow from now until I go to China.  I'm spending most of my time prepping my presentation and desperately trying to figure out if I can get a Chinese visa in time.  I'm off to NYC tomorrow to attempt to get it.

sari - wow, im so sorry this is happening.  And I hope you find someone to switch cars.  How awesome that FI is really pulling through for you right now.

J - HAVE AN AWESOME WEDDING!!  Your day of beauty sounds great.  Sorry about your FMIL...I feel like she just cannot catch a break.  I hope they got it early and she recovers quickly.

JL - That sounds like a perfect evening!  Good luck with everything and have so much fun!

Sari - You're fi def seems like a keeper.  I hope you get the car situation figured out...that is really frustrating.

MD - good luck getting your visa.  That sounds like a pain.

    Morning Ladies!
Omg I was SO busy yesterday! I didn't even get a minute to come on here! We have a deadline of Monday (5.9.11) for this project we're working on and we're all running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to finish things up... needless to say I think it will be another busy one today!

sari - so sorry to hear about your knee!! I hope everything heals up perfectly - also thank goodness this didn't happen closer to your wedding!! FI thinks he has a stress fracture in his foot but cant get to the doc until early June as he is currently un-insured :( His insurance at his new job doesn't kick in until then...

j - OMG I seriously cant believe your wedding is THIS WEEKEND!!!!! eeeeeeepppp! Sounds like you had a wonderful day of pampering yesterday!! ENJOY it!! :) Also, so sorry to hear about your FMIL... Sending many vibes and prayers her way for a speedy recovery!

md - GL with the visa!!

MRads - I hear you with being super busy at work. I feel like I don't even have a minute to breathe!

Good morning, ladies!  I'm usually at work and not able to have fun on here during the day, but I called out - I keep getting headaches in the middle of the night that last throughout the next day.  Usually it's dull but at times just starts to pound:(  On a good note, I did get a call yesterday to set up an interview for a job in Falls Church (Northern Va) so my commute would go from 55 miles/an hour and 15 drive to 11 miles/25 min drive!

Sari - Wow! That sounds painful:( Hopefully it's the lesser of two evils and you don't have to go through surgery!

J - Sooooo excited for you!!  I cannot wait to see pics of what you do with TCC and of course everything else:) Praying for everything to go well with FMIL.

MD - good luck getting the visa!

MRads -  Hopefully work will slow down as the week goes on and you have a relaxing weekend.  Late nights are not fun:(

G - Good luck with the project!  Sounds like you have it under control even though it's keeping you super busy!  And hopefully a stress fracture is not the case with FI.  I imagine he's pretty anxious to get it checked out!

Jl- You are getting married this weekend!!!!! Yeay!!!! Sorry to hear about your FMIL. I am glad that they were able to catch it though...

Md- Hope you don't have any trouble getting a visa. I am jealous of your upcoming adventure to China :-)

Mrads- Pretty sure we'll get it all figured out! Hopefully work slows down for you soon.

GMC- Yeah, we think my FI had a stress fracture in his ankle from where he fell last winter. They don't show up on normal x-rays, only MRIs. I wouldn't think it would be a big deal as it can heal on it's own, but apparently in a knee it's not a good thing and any weight on it can make it a lot worse. Def make sure your FI gets it checked out once he gets insurance. He'll need an x-ray then an MRI probably :-(

Carly- Hope you are feeling better soon! Headaches are the worst. No way you can work with one...
