Hi Everyone!
So yesterday was pretty eventful for me- I went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday morning for my knee. He thinks it's most likely a stress fracture, which will require at least 6 weeks on crutches and in a brace :-( However, if it's not a stress fracture, then it's a tear to my meniscus. If it is a meniscus tear, I'll need surgery plus 8 weeks on crutches and possibly physical therapy. I'll take the stress fracture lol. I'm getting an MRI this week, then I'll go back to the doctor a couple of days after that to see what needs to be done.
The most frustrating part of this is although it's my left leg, I can't drive my car because it's a manual transmission. My fiance's is too, and since we don't have any close friends or family up here, there is no one to switch cars with. My FI drove me to my work in Monroeville at 6:30 because he works downtown, and now has to fight the traffic to get back through the squirrel hill tunnels. I usually get out of work at 4:30 (get here at 7:30), but my FI gets out of work at 6, so I will have to wait until he gets out of work, walks to his car from PPG place to the garage at station square, then fights traffic again through the tunnels to pick me up in Monroeville :-(
So very frustrating right now. We are hoping to borrow my best friend's FI's car. He has a Jeep Cherokee he doesn't use so I may be able to drive it. We will just have to go to Kentucky on Saturday to pick it up.
Through all of this though my FI has been wonderful, not only driving me everywhere, but carrying me up and down the 2 flights of stairs at our apartment, fixing dinner, getting me ice packs, etc. He even helps me put my brace on and ties my left shoe if I'm wearing tennis shoes :-) He doesn't complain at all even though it's a huge inconvience for him. He just says 'life happens' and takes care of what he can. Yep, I'm pretty proud :-)
