~~AP910~~ & ~~Maratta~~

Hi ladies.  First off let me say Congrats on your recent wedding.

But the reason I am "paging" you is because I too am having my entire wedding at the 20th Century club and I would LOVE to see some of your photos.

And another thing...... my fiancee and I are signing the contract on Sunday with the 20th Century Club but we need some suggestions on what to negotiate.  For example, the bar prices.....  They updated their menu so now the prices are only by consumption.  Did you have an open bar?  And if so, (and you don't mind me asking) how much did your guests drink?

So if you could help me out that would be GREAT!  Thank you so much.

Hi!! Sorry I'm too late to help with the negotiations, though I think they probably don't really negotiate per say that much anyway. (Did they?)  What we did, and what I'm sure you can still do if you want, was to eliminate some things, like the soup and dessert. We upgraded some other things (salad and cake) and actually went off menu for our chicken. (A disclaimer: Things may be slightly different now because they lady we started working with unfortunately passed away during our planning, and a few other people apparently stepped up and took her place)

The consumption bar actually worked in our favor, and they were pretty accurate with the estimate they gave us. I too was nervous about the consumption based concept, but when I thought about uncles and grandmas who DON'T drink, and averaged them with those friends who do, it worked out well. It especially works out well for those ultra-last-minute cancellations, because even though you have to pay for their food, you don't have to pay for their drinks, as you would at a typical open bar reception.  Please page me again if you need something else! I'm usually late to respond, but I do respond!
