Show me your...

boutonnieres

I'm still trying to decide, but I know they'll have a lamb's ear leaf on them. I just came across the cotton bout with lamb's ear on Southern Weddings and I love it. I think this would be a great (and probably cheaper) option for the groomsmens, our dad, mom's bf/practical stepdad and my grandpa. Then FI would have a flower.

    Fi's

Dads and Groomsmen (ring bearers will have the same but a sweetheart rose)

  • I haven't decided on what flowers I'm using yet but they will be similar to what Chelsea did in terms of the different colors.

I really like the idea of the cotton bout Kelsey.
  • Do y'all think it'll be weird if the bridesmaids don't have cotton bolls in their bouquets?
  • It's a combination of the two pictures.
Orange cala lilly with hypercum berries (no rafia/twine) and FI wants to get fishing flies made into them as well (this is pictured in the 2nd picture)

  • Hmmm...probably not, in all honestly how many people will look closely enough at the bouts or bouquets to realize it, kwim?  To me it seems like that little detail that I like you would think about but in reality most people probably won't even notice it.
  • This is what their bouquets will look like:
  • I think given that it looks like they both have the lamb's ear I think they would look good together and you wouldn't have to put any cotton into the bouquets.

<div>No, I was saying that I didn't want to have to put cotton in the bouquets to make them match the bouts and didn't know if it would look weird if they didn't have matching "flowers" for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.</div>
  • Mine is below.  I also don't think you need to add anything to the bouquets - it looks great!

They are called Ranunculus.  I liked how simple they were.

  • Ah...that's what I thought they were. I really wanted those for FI's bout, but North Carolina summer's are less than ideal for them, sadly.

Ah - that's too bad.  I know they can start wilting easily, but June in Seattle is still pretty mild temps.  Honestly the cotton looks very similar and in pictures you definitely won't be able to tell.

I don't think so. No one will have picked the seeds out of them, so the bolls will be intact.

As for your other question, our mom's will both have small nosegays. We will have dress corsages for my grandma, step grandma, FSIL, and my 2 female cousins who are guestbook and programs attendants.
  • Ours will be something like this:

    Or this (in this color):

I love the idea of cotton! I think it goes with your theme and it's very Southern. I think it will be fine with the bouquets. It's unique!

I had to look up nosegays! he he
Dress corsages! That is what they are called! Is it necessary to have them for grandmothers? I would need 6. Do you do bouts for grandpas?

We are doing them for grandparents, but between the 2 of us we have a grandma, step grandma and grandpa, all on my side.

  • Well this isn't really what they will look like but close enough. They will be wrapped in the twine like the picture shows but the groomsmen will have a sprig of blue hrdrangea in theirs, the best men will have a sprig white hydrangea, and the groom with the the blue hydrangea and an ivory rose.
