Patrick C. Haley Mansion

So, I am in love with the Patrick C. Haley Mansion and have an appointment to go there Saturday.  The major down side is the guest minimum for a Friday.  The minimum is 175 and we only have about 135 on our list.  Does anyone know if they are willing to negotiate with the guest minimum?!?!?!  Please say yes!

Not sure, but I agree its a gorgeous venue!  We are right down the street at the Jacob Henry Mansion where the minimums are lower.  You might want to check it out if P. Haley doesnt work out for you!

Thank you for your suggestion!  We did look at the Jacob Henry and it is very beautiful. But, unfortunately (mostly for our savings account) I am totally stuck on the Haley Mansion.  : )

I wasn't a fan of either Mansion.  Jacob Henry was right by the old prison and I didn't want to have it in the middle of Joliet.  Patrick Haley is beautiful though.  If you end up wanting to branch out and have something really elegant I would try Dinolfo's in Homer Glen.

Patrick Haley won't budge on a number.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your response.  I actually attended a wedding at Dinolfo's.  It's nice, but not what we're going for.  We really want an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception at the same place.  I also was not a fan of the food served at Dinolfo's.

PHM won't budge on a number - they're in the power position with negotiations because they can easily find someone else to book that night without reducing their revenue.

We had our wedding there on a Friday during offseason, which significantly reduced the minimum (only 100) and all the other costs. I realize you want an outdoor ceremony, but our indoor ceremony there was stunning. We couldn't make the numbers work for an in-season wedding there and were willing to compromise on date/season in order to have our wedding there...and I don't regret it for a second!

I have no idea on where these are in the price range of Patrick Haley mansion but here are some other locations that would allow an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception at the same site:
    Cantigny
    Danada House
    Morton Arboretum
    Garfield Park Conservatory
    Meson Sabika

Man!  What a bummer!!  You're right though, ceremonies indoor are just as beautiful! I've looked at so many other places and, for me, they just don't compare.  I'm sure we'll figure something out.  Thank you so much!

Agreed, same old boring banquet halls with chandeliers and the food was cold at my cousins wedding.  Best of luck on your decision!  I hope you end up going with the PHC, it really is gorgeous :)

Thank you!  I'm pretty sure we'll go with the Haley Mansion.  It's just everything we want.  I know I would be super disappointed if we chose to go somewhere else because of the price.  Good luck to you as well!!  Love your puppy!! ; )

I would be very careful about this and make sure that you can absolutely, easily afford the extra guests. We chose a venue that was well within our budget pp even with tax and gratuity factored in and we still are spending more than we can afford.

My biggest regret with our wedding is signing a venue too soon- we should have done more research as I found out later there was a place that could have given us something FI really wanted for the price we are paying at Cantigny and still had the outdoor wedding I wanted.

    Just some food for thought.

We are getting married at the Winnetka Community House and our guest list is around 135.  They have an outdoor garden space and a reception/banquet space just off the garden area.  We'll have access to both areas during the night.  Their menu is pretty extensive and their prices were some of the cheapest we found. Good luck!  :)

Thanks.  At this point, it's so hard to look anywhere else.  I'm seriously in love with the Haley Mansion, but not so thrilled with the guest minimum.  I know there are many things that can be done to lower the cost for us.

Can you tell me about how much Cantigny is charging? Do they have minimums? It's a beautiful place and within driving distance for my guests. Where could you have gone instead? I've narrowed my reception location to two and never even heard of this one until today.
    Thanks in advance! =o))

My fiance and I looked at PH Mansion- I absolutely loved it but we just couldn't make it work. We had a meeting with them and they don't budge on much but I can tell you that if you have an off season wedding, the significantly reduce their required numbers and some prices. Good luck!
