Vendor Reviews - June 2012

I found almost all of my vendors through researching The Knot, so I wanted to share my vendor reviews in the hopes it will also be helpful for other brides!

Christ The King Parish, Mashpee - A+ This is where our ceremony was held. It was the first church I came across on the Cape that would allow us to get married there even though we were not members of their parish. This church is also one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, as they just recently completed a major renovation. It is absolutely stunning! They were very easy to work with and very friendly. I am so happy we found them.

Katie Lynch Koglin - harpist/vocalist - A+ Katie provided harp music and vocals for our wedding mass. She was fantastic! Very professional, quick in her replies, and sounded beautiful during the mass. Highly recommend!

Joe Kleinberg - bagpipes- A+ Joe provided bagpipe music at the church while guests arrived and departed. He also played our recessional song for us. He was very prompt in his replies as well and the music sounded great!

Donny Nolan - A+ Donny is the music director at Christ the King and provided piano music for us during the mass. He worked well with Katie and the piano added a very nice touch to the mass!

Reception - New Seabury Country Club - A++! This place is gorgeous! We fell in love with it once we walked out onto the back deck with the view of the ocean. The ballroom has large windows on one side that also offer the beautiful view of the golf course/ocean in the distance. We worked with Aaron Brochu, he was awesome. Very patient with all of my emails, took the time to answer all of my emails. When the weather is good, the wedding party can take golf carts down to the beach area for photos. One of the waitresses came with us to bring champagne and appetizers for everyone during photos. Aaron, and the rest of the staff, took great care of us all might. All of our guests raved about the atmosphere and the food. Highly recommend this venue!!

DJ Scott Rosenthal (cape tunes)- A+, as many other reviewers have noted, Scott is very fast with his replies. He makes you feel like you are on a friendly level with him, as opposed to just another client. He played everything we asked for and kept the party going. He even worked hard to find an obscure song for one of our family members requested. You will not be disappointed if you choose him to DJ your wedding. He really does live up to all of his positive reviews on here!

Hair and makeup - Erin Kennedy of Artworx and Kimberly Richard cosmetics, A+, these ladies also lived up to the many positive reviews on here. They traveled to us at the hotel to do our hair and makeup. Everyone looked FABULOUS! I was so happy with how everything turned out, can't go wrong if you hire them! They were a delight to work with.

Pink Polka Dot - A+, they did our out of town welcome bags for our hotel guests. They came out great and everyone loved them.

White Tie Limo - A+, they were on time and brought us to the right place, always a good thing:) the driver was so careful with my gown and made sure to help me keep it clear of the wheel well :), he was very sweet!

First Student - A, they were on time and helped transport our guests all night. We rented a big yellow school bus from them. The only negative was myself and my groom had planned on riding the bus home with everyone, but it left without us! Not entirely their fault as I believe someone told the driver he was ok to leave. And all of our parents were still at the venue so it wasn't like we didnt have a ride home, but I was a little disappointed we missed out on that ride back!

Splash Stationers, A, invitations, they came out awesome and everyone raved about them. The only negative was they took longer than I was originally told, so I had to turn them around very quickly. But despite that, I would use them again.

Erica Ferrone - photographer, A++, Erica is AWESOME. Her photos are stunning and she is so outgoing and easy to work with. She was also very good at keeping things moving to help us get all the shots we wanted. I felt so much better having her there the day of my wedding. I cannot recommend her enough. She was very prompt in all of her replies as well. I loved her!

Dulce Press - A+, they provided the individual place cards for the place settings at the reception. Jen used my invitation design to create a matching place card, and her production time was very quick!

Vintage flowers, Osterville - A+, our flowers were stunning. They created our bouquets, bouts, flowers for the church, and reception area. They also delivered the flowers the next day to a local nursing home. I was very happy with how everything turned out. And they were the only florist I found to be very quick to respond. Highly recommend!

Resort and Conference Center, Hyannis - A+, they provided our room block, and did the rehearsal dinner. Im sure I must have driven them crazy with all of my emailing, but they were very professional and helpful. The hotel has kind of a strange layout, but the service is great. The rehearsal dinner was held outside, and the food was very good. Everyone had a nice time there. We also had a breakfast there the next day which was very good as well. They really ran everything very smoothly.

I know I gave good grades to everyone, but honestly everything came out perfectly. The reviews on here mention many of the same vendors again and again, and for good reason, as I learned. Good luck to all the future Cape brides!

Omg I forgot to give an A+ to our awesome cake baker, Lisa from Delicious Desserts!! How could I forget! I'm not a big cake lover, but her cake was out of this world. She has so many cool designs, and everyone raved about how tasty it was! Go with Lisa, you won't be disappointed! Also we used Amy's Apples in Smithfield, RI for our favors, another bullseye A+. Amy created a custom favor for us and it was exactly what we wanted. She shipped them to our venue in a cooler and it was the hottest day of the year. She is certainly a pro as they got there in perfect shape, and they were delish!
