Gifts mailed to my house for a "surprise" shower

I know that my mom is planning a shower for me, but I also know that she wants to keep it as much a surprise as possible. I don't know when or where it will be, but I know it will be before the end of the summer beacuse invites have obviously gone out.

Some one on the guest list sent me an email saying that she mailed the shower gifts to my house because she doesn't know if she will be able to make the shower or not. She asked me to not open them just in case she can make it - she wants me to bring it to the shower to open it with the other gifts! She doesn't realize it's a surprise and my mom is a little old fashioned and assumes that everyone's shower is a surprise.

I appreciate her thoughtfulness, but how do I handle this? I don't know when it will be and don't want to ruin the surprise of when/where for myself, so it's near impossible for me to be ready to bring it.

What would you do with this?

Give the gift to your mom! Say 'Aunt Suzie sent this to my house, but asked me not to open it until the shower, so could you just hang on to it and bring it to the shower in case Aunt Suzie could make it?'  No harm, no foul. Aunt Suzie didn't tell you when/where to bring it, right?

    Duh! Thanks hboo!

It's amazing how wedding stuff seems so overly complicated and you stop thinking like a normal human being.

My mom is crazy about keeping it a surprise too! Yeah just give it to your mom and she will bring it along with your dress, shoes, and, in my case hopefully my straightening iron! Omg, I'd kill her!
