cardbox help

Does anyone know of any tutorials that can help me with making my own cardbox?  I see pictures of boxes that I like, but I have no clue how to go about making them. Thanks!

    i did mine!!!

I bought Paper mache boxes (3 of them, like a 14 inch, 10 inch, 6 inch) cut out the bottom of the 10 and 6 and then cut a hole the size of the bottom of the box that sits on top of it so it fits.

I covered mine with fabric, I bought like cheap satin and glued it around the edges. I might not combine them but I might Idk yet, probably just with glue.

do you have pics of the cardbox you want to make? or can you describe it?

most are made with those paper mache boxes you can get at a craft store. Cover them with pretty paper and ribbon, and voila! Gorgeous box to display at the wedding :-)

I found this post on the DIY board.  There is one girl here that wrote a tutorial of how she created hers.

I just bought a set of 3 rectangle paper mache boxes at JoAnn Fabrics :) My FI cut the holes for me (so the cards drop down in) and a large slit at the top. I super glued each box on top of the next. I did not super glue my top lid on (so we can get the cards out later.) I wasn't quite sure how to deal with the fabric, so I went the easy route and got craft paint. I painted all the boxes a charcoal grey, then let them dry. Then I super glued my ribbon in my accent color around each rectangle. I bought two silk peonies, cut the stems off, glued a pretty sparkle button in the middle, and super glued one on the bottom rectangle, and on the top of the box for a little more dimension.

I REALLY like you cardbox, and I'm not thinking I am going to be too great with the fabric.  So the craft paint would probably work best for me...what type of brush did you use for the paint and up close can you see any type of paint running??  Thanks
