Live band vs DJ

If its in the budget, what do you think?  What are the pros and cons of both.  I saw there was a recent post about this, but I cannot open the link.

    I woud love to have a band if they can play a variety of music! I went to a wedding and they had a live band and it was so much fun! We are having a DJ and we have seen him at other weddings and he does a pretty good job at keeping the atmosphere alive!
