I'm going to be a catechist!

I signed up today to help teach 2nd grade catechism!  I'm really excited!  I'm also a little nervous, since 2nd grade is a pretty big year (our church has them doing their first confessions and first communions that year) and this is my first year doing it.  Hopefully I'll do well in preparing them!
Also of note, Fi and I got our PREPARE inventory results back.  We passed, lol.  The priest told us he feels good about our relationship.  He also said he might actually come to our reception, which isn't something he normally does.  I feel special.  Smile

Congratuations and good luck! :) 2nd grade was always my favorite grade to teach out of all the ones I did. Just wait until you see their transformation in behavior when they put on their First Communion outfits, it's amazing!! :) So much fun the entire year though!

That is awesome!  It's a big job.  God bless you in helping.

I also helped with second-grade catechism last year.  Now I help with fourth-grade, but second-grade was more fun and more important with the Eucharist and Reconciliation, as you mentioned.

Clear -- I haven't seen you around here in forever! How are things going?!?

On topic, I would love to have the chance to teach catechism someday, but I know that this is not yet the season of my life for that.

I know!!!  This is my first post in 3 months.  After our wedding, I had to "detox" from The Knot, if you know what I mean.  Everything made me emotional because I either wanted to relive the good parts or redo the bad parts of the day each time I saw wedding-related stuff.  That's the irony of being married. ;)

But we're doing great, married life is so good!
