Because of the distance my FI and I are basically going to call our DJ we think we are going to use and to a consultation over the phone then possibly put down a deposit...

What do we need to ask him? or find out?

    I would see if there is anyway you could watch a video of him in action. You need to make sure his style meshes with what you want. Do you want someone over-the-tope, cheesy, trying to get people on the dance floor, or someone who is more subdued but still Mc's?

    What does the price include? How many DJ's will there be? What does he wear? What equipment does he have? How many hours is the price for? What's the price per hour if you go over this time limit? Does he charge extra for traveling? What does he do during dinner ( a lot of times in their contract they will specify that they get dinner). I would also see a copy of his contract, which many times can just be e-mailed to you. Also what happens if you really want a song he doesn't have? WIll he get it for you or can you provide it on an iPod or CD? These are just some things we asked ours.
