30-day Shred--real results?

I have this video and have incorporated it with other workouts, but I'm thinking of doing it for the next month.  Has anyone experienced real results after doing this the way it was intended?  :)

Thanks!

Re: 30-day Shred--real results?

  • Yes, I did it 2 years ago the way it was intended and it really does work.  I just outgrew it.  I noticed great defintion in my arms and abs. My thighs can get bulky, so I'm not a big fan of the leg exercises, but I did them and just paid attention to inches lost and how I felt in clothes.

  • Yep it works definately!  Jillian Michaels is great and I love 30 day Shred.

  • Yes, I am at the end of  more than 30 days, and I too have done it along with other things (dancing, running, other videos). My arms actullay have muscle now, my legs and core are really toned... It has been great!

I've gotten one of my best friends and even my Mom to do it with me! The encouragement has helped...
  • My legs and arms are actually sore today from doing it yesterday. I just started it again. If you keep your diet under control and work as hard as you can, you will see results. :) Keep going! :)

  • She also just released a new DVD called Ripped in 30. It has 4 levels instead of 3, and a lot of new moves. I'm up to level 2 and so far I like it better than the 30 day shred!
  • Ok, so I'm doing the Thirty Day Shred.  I have been good, done for about 10 days, I'm on level 2 and have only missed one day.  I have not lost any weight...actually i have gained about three pounds.  Am I doing something wrong?  I actually believe that the weight is probably muscle weight as I am feeling better in my clothes but was expecting to see some results faster.  I did measure myself...thank god, and will wait a little longer before I measure myself again.  I do see my abs coming back out from the fat so that was motivation.

I have always been in shape and work out on a pretty regular basis and thought the thirty day shred would help get me out of a rut.  I definilty would like to lose like 15-20 lbs.

I also have started eating better.  I'm a snacker so I have been buying carrots, broccoli and celery and eating that instead of the bad snacks that I love!!!!! ;)

So could you please let me know how it worked for you if you gained before you lost, or how it worked that woudl be great to hear.  Thanks so much guys!!!!

Try to focus on the things highlighted above and not necessarily the numbers on the scale. I have used the 30 day shred on and off now over the last year or so. I'll be honest, I've never stuck with it for a full 30 days but some weeks when I'm very busy and have no time for the gym and stick solely to the shred, I would notice more muscle definition.

I can definitely say it helps you to build muscle which in turn, boosts your metabolism by being able to burn more calories (the more muscle you have, the more calories you can burn).

As for the 3 lbs, sounds to me like you may just need a little adjustment in your diet. I've heard many times that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% activity...  so maybe you are not eating enough? Make sure you are getting no less than 1200 calories per day and drinking tons of water. Great job on switching your sweets to veggies and thats a great start!  There are plenty of other posts on here that actually have great suggestions for diet- I've heard many good things about the South Beach Diet lately. :)

Good luck and hang in there!
  • Thank you so much!!!!  I was feeling down, the weight gain I have attributed to the muscle but I do feel better!!!!  I am starting to see changes and am not stepping on the scale.  At work my uniform even fits better!!!  I also feel stronger!!  I'm on level 2 and it's hard but I'm moving right along.

My fiance is now saying he wants to do it!!!!  I do hope that he does, he would lose weight so quickly.....he always does.  I think he would feel better too!!!

    Thanks again!!!!
