I had the great fortune of marrying my best friend and soul mate on New Year Day in Charlotte NC. Here is a link to a few pics:
I will review my various vendors in a ranked order:
Whitebox Wedding Photography (Greensboro): Mel was simply amazing. She did our engagement shoot and spend 7 hours with us on our big day and as wonderful as the day was...she managed to capture even more magic through her lens. They are certainly expensive (I spent almost 1/3 of my budget on them)....and I would do it again every day of the week and twice on sunday...incredible investment for my husband and I that will last the rest of our lives! The pics really speak for themselves and here is a link with even more of her extraordinary work: A+
Cake Lady Jill (Charlotte): My cake was tied for my favorite wedding element (tied with my exquisite dress)! Jill was amazing to work with and was very professional. The tasting was fantastic and she allowed my mother and I to be very creative in mixing flavors to create three wonderful and different tiers. The design was breathtaking. If you see the pic you see the design was a replica of the swarovski detailing on my Amsale gown. Jill knocked it out of the park...again the picture speaks for itself. The cake was moist, sweet but not too sweet and had all of my guest in "awe" all night long! A+
Nitsa's Bridal Boutique (Charlotte/Winston) Chris, the owner was amazing. Crystal who is based out of the Charlotte location is equally fantastic. From dress selection through alterations they were perfection. Speaking of alterations...Lillian altered that dress to fit me like a glove. I selected am amazing Amsale Blue Label gown and Nitsa's is the only boutique in NC to carry the line (im pretty sure) I was considerably smaller than the dress and she took it in perfectly...also the French bustle was immaculate! As a former beauty queen (1st runner up MISS NC USA 2009) I have worn some amazing evening gowns in my day...never have I felt so glamorous and elegant. A+
Sulivan's Steakhouse (Charlotte): Mandy was in charge of special events and she was so great that I felt like I gained a new gal pal in the planning process! Not only was she so sweet and accommodating but she was also incredibly professional and great about responding to emails and phone calls. I had a very intimate wedding with only 60 guests so their private dining room was a perfect fit! I had a budget and was still able to give my guest amazing fare including lump crab cakes, filet mignon and signature cocktails of sweet tea vodka martinis and their famous pineapple infused martini! If you have ever been there for dinner you know the food quality is EXCELLENT! They also were fantastic with prompt service to all 60 guests and hour food was piping hot. A
Place for Flowers (Charlotte): Pretty safe bet to say they are the premiere florist in charlotte for special events. Taylor was great to work with and since this was an area that I chose to make some budget friendly decisions he did a great job of helping me create my vision of perfection within a reasonable dollar amount. The altar pieces and bouquets were all beautiful my only issue was that the stones on the handle of my bouquet seemed to be glued on and as soon as I picked it up they all popped off...but the flowers were so lovely...i really didn't care:-) Bravo Taylor! Charlotte Strings (Charlotte) Talented and on-time. They sounded fantastic and I chose to cut the budget here as well and only used a cello and violin and it was plenty of beautiful sound for St. Mary's Chapel. My only issue was that my hostess told them the order of my procession which was a little non-tradition (my mother walked in directly before me) and they didn't quite get that because they started playing my entrance music when she was walking in...again so much went right...it wasn't a big deal:-) A-
