Save the Dates and Invitations - Recommendations

Happy Friday!

Has anyone done magnets for the Save the Dates and if so, do you have a website that you used and were happy with? If not magnets...anything else that was fun and different?

Also, has anyone used Wedding Paper Divas for invitations? How was the experience? We are looking to do more fun invitations then traditional? Any other recommendations?

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

I got save the date magnets from magnetstreet.com. Reasonably priced and I searched for online discounts and found one for like 15-20% off.

For something different - there are a number of companies that do "seeded" invitations where the recipient can plant the invitation in the ground after the wedding and wildflowers will grow.  It's a neat idea and I'm thinking about doing it for my wedding.

Here is one example, but there are more: Botanical Paperworks

We used magnetstreet for our save the dates, but did cards not magnets (because I wanted to put the hotel info on them).

For our invitations we used www.theamericanwedding and they were great to work with!

My sisters used wedding paper divas for the invites to my shower and they were pretty cute. And they matched the color scheme of the wedding!

Our save the date magnets were free through vistaprint (sign up for the emails and pretty much everything is free all the time). I then made a folded card out of cardstock and attached the magnet inside so that we could include hotel info.

There is a picture if you click on my for sale bio, and then go over to the all things paper section on the left.

I too made magnets through Vista Print for my STDs.

I used 1st Class Wedding Invitations.com for my invites BUT used Wedding Paper Divas for my thank yous (and they were my runner up for my invites) and used their sister site Tiny Prints for my baby announcements.  They have great quality and are very easy to work with!

I had a long engagement so when we sent the STD's it would have been too early to do the hotel information.  We also didn't have a huge amount of OOT guests so we just sent the hotel info in our wedding invites and for that handful of ppl that came from OOT I gave them the hotel info via the phone.

If the timing works and you have alot of OOT ppl, it wouldn't hurt to send the info then if you can, its a nice idea.

We sent the hotel info because we got married in June and had to deal with the hotels rooms being possibly being taken up with high school graduations and proms. So we just wanted to give the info as early as we could. But most hotels won't book rooms until a year out, so realize that when you send your save the dates. We sent ours at Thanksgiving, so it was a little more than six months out.

We included the hotel info in our save the dates and invites. About 5 rooms were booked after we sent the save the dates, the rest with the invites.

We sent it with our invites...pretty much everyone knew when the wedding was so we didn't have to worry about them saving the date, per se.  We made up a cute little card to go in with the invites.
