MGs who mailed out their SS name-change form

I mailed my name-change request form, my passport and marriage license late last week to a local office. Along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. I put a lot of postage on both envelopes just in case.

How long did it take for them to send your passport and marriage license back to you? Did they send it with the new Social Security card, or did they send your personal items first and then the SS later?

I'm just a bit concerned because I thought it'd be a faster process, but maybe it got delayed because of Labor Day weekend.

They just input the info there, and then you are mailed your new card. I would assume that you would get your personal items back first, then your card 2 weeks later- but I don't know for sure

I'd try & go in person & follow up. I used to deal with SS all the time back with my old attorney's office & they lose stuff all the time...did you send it certified mail -- did anyone sign for it??
