I am thinking about getting a spray tan, but I am worried about my skin looking orange. Has anyone had a good experience with spray tans? If so, where in Austin did you get yours done? Thanks ladies!

I just wrote a blog entry about this earlier today. (Blog link is in signature) I got a Mystic Tan for the first time (stand in the booth and it sprays you). Getting an actual person to airbrush you is preferred by some people but for my first experience I wasn't too keen on getting naked in front of someone, lol.

I'm addicted! I was having a girl come to my house to do it by hand and I looooved it. I'm about to go try VersaSpa in a few weeks, too.

Oh, the girl that was coming to my house was with Bronzed Envy. She's the owner. (I wasn't very impressed when her assistant came out, so I'd request that the owner do it.) It runs about $40, but you can purchase 2 for $70.

I've had airbrush tan before and I did not like it. It started coming off pretty quickly and left me splotchy in certain areas and it did not look natural in my opinion. You should just try it out and see how it works for you.

I've never had good luck with these! Like the PP said, it made me splotchy! Also, it doesnt appear orange at first, but when it starts wearing off it looks worse and worse. I used to have a roommate that LOVED to spray tan and she looked extremely unnatural and orange. I dont mean to burst your bubble, but I would definitely try it when you have nothing important to do for a few weeks just incase you dont like it. Good luck!

if you opt for spray DO NOT do the booth it is uneven and impossible to "fix". My biggest problem with spray tans that I have had whether from a technician or the booth was when it faded it was uneven and god forbid you got wet (like in a pool or on a beach during your honeymoon?) it faded splotchy like actual polka dots.
Another draw back is you can never get the hands/feet just right with a spray tan, so you may not want a photo of your ring or bouquet or even putting on your shoes depending on what type of shoe you wear.
As much as tanning is harmful to your skin if you want to have some color I would recommend this.

LOL - i'm so terrible bc I'm actually going to attempt to convince my fiance to do a trial run spray tan for epics and day-of bc he CANNOT tan, he just burns severely and peels back to his casper skin. i wont be too concerned about the details of his feet or hands the day of though and if i ever got him to DO it (not likely) he wouldnt care if he splotched on our honeymoon. if anything im going to rub him down with jergens in his sleep! lol

I was very happy with the spray tan that I got before going on vacation last summer. I had it done in West Campus on 27th and Rio Grande I believe. I thought it lasted pretty well considering all I did was swim and didn't make me orange. I wore just my panties because I was a little shy.

I am VERY pale, so I've tried many different mystic and bronzer options. Mystic booths are not well maintained and often seem to get clogged-leaving streakiness.

I just did VersaSpa yesterday, and it turned out really well. I only did the 1st level just to get used to it and it really does look great. I'll probably do level 2 in a few days.
