Still don't have my dress...

My dress came in in August and I went for my first fitting on 8/24.  When I arrived for my fitting, I discovered that the owner of the bridal salon ordered my dress wrong, with a major change to the top.  We never discussed making that change.  It was too extreme for the seamstress to fix, so she had to send it back to the designer.  I'm still waiting for it to come back.  It's been three and a half weeks, and I'm getting married on 10/28.  I know I have some time, but I still need to get in two fittings and I live 1.5 hours away from the bridal salon, and work even farther away.  I'm so frustrated and disappointed at this point.  This whole dress thing has not been fun.  I'm trying to wrap up all of the wedding details, but this is hanging over me.
ETA - I ordered it in December!

    I'm sorry!  I'm a 10/28 bride and haven't even seen my dress yet!!  Did they tel you when it should be in?  Hopefully you won't need a lot of alterations.

    That sucks.  I just got my dress 2 weeks ago, so I feel your pain.  I hope the salon is doing some damage control with ordering the wrong one.....obviously the rushed order shouldn't be on you, but maybe discounted alterations too??  Hopefully you won't need much done.  I went in for my first fitting Friday and she said it could have been done in 2 weeks and taken home, so I hope it's the same with yours.  Good luck!!

    Last Monday, she told me it would be in last week.  Haven't heard from her yet, so she got a not-so-nice voicemail and email from me this morning.

    That's terrible!  My mom is still waiting on her dress too (I'm a 10/12 bride).  She ordered it in March!  It didn't take my wedding dress that long to come in, and my dress was made in Australia!!!  Needless to say, she's in panic mode too.

    I'm a 10/6 bride, and haven't even had my first fitting yet. The dress still isn't here. I'm literally stalking the place, and even FI is ready to go in screaming. Apparently "this is totally normal" - (not so) funniest part - they think my wedding is a week prior. Yeah... my blood pressure isn't skyrocketing or anything.

    Oh my - I'm so sorry to hear this.  When did you order it?  Do they have an idea when it will be in?  I just hate the not knowing and their lack of a sense of urgency - if we knew when it was coming in, we could at least plan for fittings, etc.  I would be showing up on their doorstep everyday if I were you.

    They keep telling me different dates. I ordered it in March for the love of god. It was supposed to come in on Aug 1st. I mean, if its gonna come in 2 weeks before the wedding - tell me that upfront. Don't play games. I wouldn't be panicing now if I knew that upfront!

    I can relate.  I'm a 10/6 bride; I'm wearing my mom's dress which had to be completely deconstructed and redone to fit me.  I saw the seamstress last Thursday and it was in about 10 different pieces.  I go back this Thursday for my first fitting, I think.  hopefully it will be in one piece by then.
