Any cake bakers from home?

Hi ladies! does anyone know someone who is baking from home and is much cheaper? We are on a budget and i was hoping to find someone who bakes from home and can make a beautiful cake? Im from Baton Rouge and ive seen a lot of people on fcbk who are baking beautiful cakes but i cant seem to find anyone in the New Orleans area. thanks so much for your help!

    I don't know of any home bakers, but if you end up having to go the professional route I'd check out Flour Power ( www.flourpowernola.com ).  They actually offer fake cakes where only the top tier is real that can save you a significant amount of money especially if you go with buttercream frosting instead of fondant. They're the only bakery I know of that does that.  Their cakes are in.cred.ible. People have been raving about our wedding and grooms cakes ever since the wedding.

    Yes, actually! Look her up on facebook - "Kias Cakes" She did amazing work for a charity event I was involved with, and for a wonderful price! Looked very professional! I have not seen her wedding cakes first-hand, but there are pictures of examples on her facebook profile. Plus, she's just a really sweet and wonderful person.
