Help with music, please!

We have been planning on using an iPod for our wedding, but now that it is getting close (just over 2 months away!!), I am starting to panic.  We thought we had someone torun the iPod, but they flaked, so we now either need to find someone to run the iPod (we don't live in the area so the only people we know are guests) or we need a DJ.  We are on a *super* tight budget which is why we were going the iPod route, but we also don't want there to be silence the whole time!  (We also generally dislike DJs; we just want someone to play the music!)

Any suggestions for a way to find someone responsible, to pay a small amount (probably around $50 plus a meal) for them to stay on top of the iPod (the ceremony alone will require about 6 switches, with welcome music, wedding party music, my music, ceremony music, recessional music, then background as guests leave the area)?  Or should we find a way to pay a really, really affordable DJ?  If so, do you have any suggstions?

Please, please help, Western MA Knotties!!

I would suggest finding an affordable DJ. As our DJ told us, he isn't just a DJ, he's the master of ceremonies and really keeps things on track and moving. This way you don't have to worry about things being forgotten/missed/going poorly on your special day. Where are you getting married?  Here are some DJs in Western Ma/CT:

Rob Alberti's Event Services-- use one of the guys he employs- he's going to be too expensive.

After Hours DJ- it's right over the line in Enfield, CT- http://www.afterhoursdj.com/. Heard great reviews!

Not sure if DJ Melee would travel to you or still has your date open, but the girls on the CT form rave about him and how inexpensive he is.

Jam Packed Dance Floor- http://home.comcast.net/~jampackedbengi/- again not sure if they'd travel but great pricing and they did a wedding we were at recently- they were great!

Good luck! Please post again if you need help and with what you decide to do!!

I'm a little partial to the DJ route because what if something happens? What if your iPod just decides not to work that night (as technology tends to do, at least for me).
I would put a call out on Gig Master or even look on Craig's List. You might be able to find someone starting out for cheap or get a good rate on someone who hasn't booked yet since you're so close.
We're using Bob Heck Entertainment out of Pittsfield if that helps you at all. GL!
