Excitement and a little rant

There's 420 days until our 420 wedding! Getting so flippin' excited that I'm almost at the one year mark!

On that note, I'm also very happy to report that I FINALLY found an officiant and a deposit has been sent to him to hold the date. YEA! One less stress factor.

Now for my rant....why does flowers have to be so god damn expensive? Through the Knot, I found THE PERFECT bouquet. I asked the florist how much it would be to make it up and she quoted me $190 + tax for ONE bouquet. WTH???? I was thinking about going the Costco route but GEEZ....$190 for something that will just wilt? UGH! I wish I knew if I would be able to get the same flowers at Costco so I could recreate it myself. One drawback of not doing a scouting trip before the big day. Oh hum....

Yay!!  We started out at 476, so I feel your countdown pain, we are at 130 today!

I hear you on flowers, just curious, what was the bouquet like?  I am getting an all orchid bouquet with some addition touches for $160.  I know it's still a lot, but it's our wedding, no better time to splurge!

This is the flowers I found courtsey of TheKnot. I wanted to incoporate yellow, green, burnt orange and browns as I have a yellow parasol and found a yellow necklace that I love and my MOH has orange in her dress. Oh hell...I'll just include those pictures as well so you know what I'm talking about :)

I haven't bought this necklace "yet" but I LOVE IT!

Flowers are pricey. It seems like a lot to pay for something that'll just die, huh? I think I paid 130$ for mine at the end of the day, and that was at the cheaper end of the spectrum of the florists I contacted.

Yea, I got a "medium-sized" bouquet, and told them I wanted bright pink ribbon wrapped, and it was around $130.  It was really pretty, and I loved it, though.  :)

Maybe just ask the florist to make something with those colors (rather than all the exact flowers in the pic), and you can get something less expensive?
