Bridal Expo

Has anyone been to one?

I went to one. If you are going, I would suggest to create a new email address to give out because you will get a TON of junk emails. I went with specific vendors I wanted to talk to (DJ and Limo).

If you have self stick return address labels, bring some along.  You are asked to fill out your name and address at just about every booth.

Definitely agree with the PP suggestions about creating an alternate email address and bring return address labels.
In addition, get there early and be prepared to navigate through a crowd.  Bring a camera to take pictures of things you like, some paper and a pen to make notes to yourself, and bring your FI if you can-it's super fun to have your groom there with you, especially if there's a photobooth demo and you can get some free prints!

I have never gone to a regular bridal show, but I went to Indie Wed! It was so much fun. It's a little more low key than other shows (I've seen other shows, just never attended-there happened to be one in the hotel I got married at the morning after my wedding!). Indie Wed is mostly all independent, small vendors. Lots of handmade stuff too.

They're a good place to get info and possibly win some good stuff!  I've won a giftcard from a couple of places and a wedding bouquet.  I would also suggest checking out wedding walks in the area.  I went to the Downers Grove one in March and it was great, there were a bunch of great deals for local business (restaraunts & stores) that you don't get at the expos.  I know Hinsdale & Geneva have walks in the late winter.
