Petty People

If you ladies could please pray we find out who did the following, if it's in God's will.  Or somehow get our things back.

Sometime this morning or late last night, someone broke into my FI's truck (he didn't lock it, but if he had it wouldn't matter because any key opens it).  They stole all of his cds, his raidar detector, his CB, and a John Deere blanket.  FI's going to go through and make sure nothing else is stolen later and make a report but he had to go to the dentist.  I feel so bad for FI and told him I should have made him lock the doors, but he pointed out it's not my fault because even if he had, they would have gotten in.

This is the third time something has happened to our family - the first time my sister's then FI, now hubby, had his car egged for no reason, and the second some people went around and stole everyone's plastic trash bins.  There has been theft from homes within the past year, and no one seems to be getting caught for the crimes occuring.

It's hard not to stay angry, although I'm more hoping we catch whoever's doing this so FI can get his things back.  If you ladies could just pray, I don't even know what to pray for.  For FI to get his things back, for the crime to stop, for the people to get caught, for God's will to occur and we understand it?  All of the above lol?

Thanks for listening to my frustration/prayer/confusion.  You ladies rock.

That's so frustrating.  Several locked cars were broken into last year during a banquet at my church, and the bag with mom's work laptop and all of her thumbdrives was stolen.  They eventually found the laptop with GPS, but never got the thumbdrives back, and the lady (yeah...60 year old woman) threw the bag away.  Mom loved it and she was more sad about that than the other stuff.  Hope everything works out in this!  Praying for you and FI.

I'm glad that your FI is okay despite the possessions being lifted.  My car was vandalized at a school where I taught last school year (Nov 2009) and caused $1700 worth of damage... thank goodness the crazies didn't try to break into the car, I would have lost the iPod and the GPS but that would have been it.  Still the insurance deductible was hard to swallow ($500!) and if they ever catch who did it they'll sue them for my deductible but at this point supposedly the security cameras in the school parking lot were "malfunctioning" (NOT) and the sheriff in my county is corrupt and never investigated it, despite pressure from me, the principal, and the insurance company.  I hope they can get your things back.  It is awful to feel so violated.

I bet that would be frustrating. Crime is always quite high in my hometown (minneapolis), and stuff gets stolen all the time. I know how annoying and freaky that is. Why can any key get into the car? Does tha tmean that they could have stolen the car too?

Yes, I'm very thankful neither he or I were hurt.  It baffles me they would break into his truck though because it's an old beat up Toyota, with a Redneck sticker across the windshield and a John Deere license plate on the front.  It's decked out in the most random lights ever, with a tool box spray painted blue in the bed - with a hand lock on it.  It's not like it screams "WE HAVE MONEY!!!  Steal our stuff!!"  I guess whoever did steal the stuff likes country music and wanted a John Deere blanket.  Random.  I don't think the police are even going to investigate it, however when FI gets back from the dentist he's going to call and file a claim.  People are so rude and petty these days, and it just gets worse.  :(  Everytime I think to myself, "I wonder who did it... I wonder if we could catch them... I wonder if anyone saw..."  God saw.  He knew this would happen.  He knows who did it.  Maybe He'll give them a conscience.  ;)

@bourgehm - For some reason or another, his locks are messed up so anyone can get into his truck.  However, thankfully you have to have the actual key to start the truck itself.  Although his truck could be hot wired but it's not a very "nice" truck so they probably didn't care.  Although since they stole that John Deere blanket and country cds and a CB, maybe they were looking for a "Redneck" truck?  Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
