Wedding ON the sand???

Hi... my FI and I would like to get married on the sand in the Los Angeles Area (or anywhere Southern California). Has anyone done this without going through a venue? We'd like to apply for the permit and just do it. Any thoughts?

    I think for any party under 20 people you don't even need to have a permit; a friend of mine did it with just her, the groom, the officiant, and a couple of us watching with a photographer. She used chris robinson as the officant, www.officiantguy.com, and he helped out a lot setting it up and then my photographer to photograph it and he also helped her with the location, Corbin Kell www.corbinkell.cc

    No permit is needed if it is under 100 guests...for all Santa Monica state beaches...

    It is first come first serve tho
