Shoe dilemma

Hi all,

We just picked out my bridesmaid dresses, and I already have my gown...now onto shoes! 

My bridesmaids are wearing knee length Alfred Sung dark charcoal grey (ebony) dresses, and I have a light ivory, close to white gown. My colors are charcoal grey and fall colors (reds, oranges, coppers, golds). I don't think I want to go for the ivory/white shoe. I had wanted to do my shoes as the something blue, but I think it will clash to much with all the fall colors. What should I wear? What should I tell my bridesmaids to wear? I was considering having them all do different metallic shoes (golds and coppers), and then doing a red shoe myself. I'm worried that the red will be too harsh with my dress. I'm stuck. Help!

    Unless your dress is short, your shoes won't show, so go with whatever color you like. For the bridesmaids, you could just ask them to wear any metallic shoe, and let them choose. They may already have something. If you get very specific with the color/style, you need to purchase the shoes for them.

    A sapphire blue is a great fall color. Or perhaps a darker teal. I'm going with blue shoes. :)

    My BMs are probably purchasing Alfred Sung gowns in the same color, and they will do purple shoes with them, and I am considering teal shoes, since my colors are grey, purple and teal. I think that dress color looks great with a pop color with it, so I would go for red! If your dress is long, your shoes won't show very much, so you could still go with blue, if you wanted. I think a darker blue could actually look really nice with those colors.

    What style Alfred Sung dress are your girls getting?

    DItto PP. You can wear any color shoe you want to because no one is going to see them unless you show them.  Pick the color and let the BMs choose the shoes.

    I really kind of wanted to do an orange shoe for the girls! But then I felt like that was something they wouldn't wear again, so thats why I thought golds or coppers might be better.... I think I'll just stick with them each picking their own metallic pump, and then maybe get red for myself....unless a blue pair really speaks to me. Thanks for the advice.

    They are wearing the Alfred Sung D462 and D566....three in one, four in the other. Both in Ebony.

    Nice choice with the grey, purple, and teal. That sounds really pretty!

    Metallics would probably work best and be easiest to find (or already own!) Leave it to your gals. A pop of a cool color like navy or teal would work nice, but you can always add it to one of your other details like the ribbon of their bouquets!
